How long does it last, and can it be stored at room temperature?

Lakeside Pemmican is made from grass-fed beef tallow, dried and powdered lean cuts of grass-fed beef, and dried and powdered organic cranberries. It also has sea salt and freshly ground peppercorns as preservatives. Lakeside Pemmican bars are vacuum sealed and packed, and last indefinitely. And yes, it can be stored at room temperature. Lakeside Pemmican contains no nuts. Unsaturated fats in nuts cause rapid rancidity in any pemmican that contains nuts. Lakeside Pemmican is shelf stable and lasts indefinitely because it contains grass-fed beef tallow, not nuts.

Where is the company based out of?

We are based in the scenic Hudson Valley in Upstate New York dotted with small, local grass-fed farms that produce the best tasting beef, suet, and jersey milk. Never add nuts to pemmican! The fats in nuts do not keep nearly as well as the grass-fed tallow we use. That is why everyone else's "pemmican", with nuts added, has a year or so shelf-life. When properly stored, Lakeside Pemmican lasts indefinitely, just as all traditionally produced pemmican does.

Each bar is 1/2 oz packed in 2 sealed bags of 7 for a total of 14 bars 7 ounces is the total weight of all 14 bars.
