"non-locking" blade has steep learning curve.
It's a beautiful monster that wants and is made only to please to the highest demands.Gorgeous, eye-catching blade. I can't say enough about the precision and quality of materials, manufacture and presentation. All PERFECT.My caveat lies in the unfamiliarity that this style of deployment displays.Three distinct states of "blade position":1: Closed.2: Half open3: Open. All three take a deceptively large amount of force to move from one state to the next, both in opening and closing directions.I like the half open state when closing. Saves the fingers from one BEASTLY spring-force.I Hate the half-open state when deploying. Feels like i'm operating a high end umbrella. The half open state in my non-practiced hands feels almost alien to me and, at the moment, completely deletes any "Smooth operation" I might hope for in a knife I will be using dozens of times a day. Will add a light kiss of 3 in 1 oil and hope it breaks in well enough to be comfortable to deploy and stow without too much deliberate fumbling. That gripe aside, this is a magic knife.Because Marvel's adamantium is a fairytale, we will never have it in our hands, but this CPM S110 V steel is as close as we will ever get, being stainless to boot means, though you will undoubtedly periodically do maintenance on it because you're a gizmo geek and it's a friggin SPYDERCO knife, the knife just appreciates your effort while silently needing not a damn bit of your pampering. You wont even need to feed it!(just don't PRY with the point for crying out loud or you'll be watching youtube videos on how to work, form and sharpen a metal that LAUGHS at ceramic abrasives through eyes full of sour tears)DON'T PRY WITH THE TIP

Great value super steel knife, sharp as a lightsaber!
So I purchased this UKPk by Spyderco about a week ago and have edc this for 5 days at this point. I must say it's a sweet little folding knife. This is my second Spyderco product, first being a vg10 dragonfly that came from Amazon too. This UKPK show up prime as promised from a company called hardware sales through Amazon. The knife is legit genuine Spyderco not a fake. This knife has the com s110v steel blade and it's sharp as a lightsaber. This is my first time experiencing this steel and as some have said it's different but awesome. This steel doesn't seem to accept a polished edge but is plenty sharp and I don't necessarily have to have a polished edge. This knife cuts like nobody's business. The edge grind is even, fit and finish is on point, blade centering is spot on. I can't find anything to complain on or dislike. The FRN handles on this one are not as rough as my dragonfly but I really like it. When I would reach in my pocket for keys the dragonfly scales would scrap up the back of my hand, the UKPK doesn't. Overall great knife folks, don't hesitate to try this one out if your looking for a sub 3" blade non locking folding knife. Thanks for reading my review and putting up with my ramblings from a fellow knife enthusiast. I did not receive this knife for free or at a reduced rate for exchange for a review, purchased with my own hard earned money. Thanks

CPM S110V steel in a three inch Leaf shape blade in a non-locking lightweight pocket knife
My second UK model Spyderco Penknife has a blue handle and CPM S110V, first one has the Stretch knife blade shape in CTS BDN1 steel and a black color plastic handle, both are three inch blades with different shapes.I'll be using both daily over the next year or so and I'll be seeing which of the two I prefer and if neither of the two were worth carrying. I have a bunch of knives and my needs and uses changed over time, currently lightweight light use knives in the three inch blade range around home work best. And my two UK knifes both arrived within what I'd call basic factory spec for Spyderco, clean knives, sharp blades, finish unmarred or blemished. Both needed a couple of days of opening and closing but nothing like any of the problems others noted. After using both over a week I'd say no differences in the blade steel cutting is apparent just opening amazon boxes and paks, cutting carrots went fine. Observation under a hand magnifier noted the higher polish on the cutting edges of the CTS BDN1, and the toothier looking edge of the CPM S110V, use over time will tell if I have a preference for either.Recommended if you want S110V in a small lightweight knife.Konrad.

Great Every Day Option
This is NOT a hard use blade. You won't be batoning with it, or taking it on your hunting trip. It IS a bizarrely nice little option for dropping in your pocket as an every day utility cutter. It doesn't lock, yet it doesn't feel unsafe if you're handling it with appropriate use. It has enough edge length to break down boxes if needed, and the handle feels nice to hold during light duty tasks. The handle is nylon with no metal liners, which is a little strange if you're used to having brass or steel to hold onto. However, for what this knife is designed to do, that's perfectly fine. Opening letters, cutting tape or foam, breaking down the odd box or two. It'll do all that, and Spyderco put on a pretty decent edge that should last a while due to the composition of the blade steel. The biggest positive of this knife is that it weighs next to nothing.

Love it. But mine wasn't that sharp.
It's a great deal for the blade. Unfortunately the edge on mine wasn't that great, just okay. I have a s35vn knife that has a noticably sharper edge than this knife. Going to sharpen later, I'll try to take a few degrees off as I only use it for food.
