Mergers & Acquisitions Integration Handbook: Helping Companies Realize The Full Value of Acquisitions

Highly Reccomended
This is what I was looking for - the real thing without a lot of fluff - to build new templates from. Looking through 100's of old integration files I've used is hard as they have become complex and scattered from real life usage.M&A Integration is for sure one of the most complex and difficult types of projects that can be undertaken. On a thumbnail view, there is full impact to People, Process, and Technology across two firms that may have been competitors or friends, but simply put, did their own thing their own way until the announcement was made.Having been on both sides of multiple M&A integrations, they truly are the most disruptive business and change management events. As stated in the book "Uncertainty is the number-one productivity killer post-merger..." is very true: if you are not on-the-spot from communications and deep pre-Day 1 planning the chances of failing multiply as fast as the Earth spins.Needless to say, IT is critical for integration. Just an example, Finance (Accounting, Tax, FA, etc.) synergies are contingent on system conversion completed rapidly and accurately, otherwise structural synergies cannot be accomplished, plus the cost of running two systems decreases synergies and allows more opportunities for errors.Great book - allows one to create their own process that can tailor to any M&A integration, plus allow a framework to add to with additional research and learning. At a very minimum, this is a starting point and a full checklist for the new IMO leader through experienced practitioners. Highly recommended.(PS - The Kindle version is fine, better views of graphics in Kindle PC and Cloud)

A No Nonsense Guide to the Integration Exercise
I have managed around a dozen integrations and read pretty much all the major books on the topic. While I know a few things about M&A Integration, there's always much much more to learn. A few books have been simply unreadable and offer no real insights into such an important topic. But I rank this book as one of my favorites.Quite simply, if you have been tasked with a critical business integration exercise, you don't want a book with a lot of padding. It has to be clear, concise and to the point. Well this book is it.My advice to anyone who is about to embark on an M&A Integration exercise,is to stop, pick up this book, and read it cover to cover. There are some real pitfalls, and part of the reason why deals don't always deliver the expected value is because the integration challenge is not fully understood.

Easy to grasp concepts and practical examples in a handbook for anyone involved in M&A
This is truly a handbook for anyone involved in M&A with easy to grasp concepts and practical examples. The end-to-end integration blueprint of how an integration project is put together from start to finish gave me a number of new insights. It tells the reader how to mitigate risks and draw from the authors vast experience from many such projects.

A Must Read Book for Executives Completing a Merger or Acquisition
I've purchased several M&A integration books and this to me is the best so far. It lays down all components of an integration in clear language to be easily applied - well worth the money spent. I highly recommend this book and other books and training by Scott Whitaker and his collaborators.

has no useful content. Buy Timothy Galpin's Complete Guide to Mergers ...
Surprisingly limited level of detail, mostly seems to be a marketing pitch for their consulting services. The website, that supposedly has templates and other supplemental material, has no useful content.Buy Timothy Galpin's Complete Guide to Mergers & Acquisitions instead.

One of the most clear and succinct business books with loads of practical ideas
Mergers and reviews are a challenging situation for any company or organisation that wants to ensure maximum synergy and value from this activity. This book cuts through the 'waffle' and provides a constructive and example-laden set of ideas to chart you thorugh all aspects from pre-merger through to ultimate value realisation. It is full of practical advice that can be easily understood and implemented. An excellent business book that should be a model for other business book writers.

A great book for anyone embarking on M&A integration!
A really insightful and carefully written book - it is well laid out, and extremely helpful. It's not aimed at M&A professionals so much as those new to M&A integration, but provides loads of useful info. Jargon free too!

Sehr gute Zusammenfassung

Great Resource
This is a great resource that focuses exclusively on the integration portion of mergers and acquisitions activity. It is pretty high level, but there are still lots of useful tools and insights to be gained from it.
