Leather Aviator Shearling Ushanka Trapper Hat Russian Sheepskin Cap Real Fur Winter Hat with Ear Flaps for Men Women

I live in the north where it normally gets down to the 20s-30s F with windchill all winter. I was tired of not getting proper protection and warmth from knit and fleece hats... Especially wind chill on my ears and face. Following the advice of other buyers I went one size up from my normal hat size, and it fits perfectly. It's high quality, real sheepskin/wool, and very warm. The flaps, when tied in a loose knot under the chin, do a great job with cold wind/warmth. Highly recommend!

This hat is super warm. If you live somewhere that gets cold in the winter its a must have. It fits nice and snug. I find it to be comfortable and it seems well made. Plus it just looks nice with my leather aviator jacket.

I bought an XXL after reading suggestions, and my head measures 8.5. The hat fits well and it seems to be a very warm hat to wear during our cold winter months. I do however wish there was a better way to tie the strings under my chin or over my head when not wearing the flaps down. I may have to consider a double knot tie to hold in place when shoveling snow or out and about. Overall, a good hat and I do recommend if this is the style you're seeking.

Really pleased with the purchase of this hat. I Highly Recommend it to those who want a high quality, well constructed Trapper hat. The leather is soft and supple, the wool is warm and soft, the fit is perfect and add in the fact that it had a really good "limited time deal", plus an additional discount coupon available when I purchased it.... even though it would have been well worth the original price. Everything about the hat was so good, including the price, that I actually purchased a second hat for my brother-in-law for his birthday. He was thrilled to say the least. Cold heads and ears are a thing of the past for both of us now. Some buyer's comments say their hats ran small and needed to exchange for a larger size, but in my case I used the chart that was shown with hat sizes as well as measurement size. My normal hat size is 7 1/4 - 7 3/8 or L on the chart. The fit for me was right on. I'm not saying other peoples comments are wrong, just that in my case everything worked out as to the sizing/fit. I found the construction to be excellent. Seams were straight, sewing tight and even, and really like how the front wool part is permanently fixed and does not flap down. Zavelio has done a really good job and their products show it. They have a really good variety of colors and leather options to choose from and am confident other buyers will find just what they want. Once again I Highly Recommend these hats!!

I got sold a factory second for $40 from Amazon Warehouse Deals. When I went back to try another "Warehouse Deals" item, I saw the seller did not offer that option anymore. A few other customers may have had problems with "factory seconds", but that seems rare, given the great product reviews. Made of real wool and sheepskin, inside and out. The "Cashmere" hat I got was not as pictured in listing, with a mottled, variable, off-color outside. The inside wool is made with pieces that have large gaps and broad seams showing. The thin leather tie-string broke off while tying, where it was poorly attached to the hat . I tried to return it for an exchange, but a refund was the only option Amazon gave me. I was contacted by the seller after I initiated my return, who offered to replace the product to insure I was satisfied. Nice. A better product would be made with all wool inside, not patches of sewn-in pieces like this one. The inside nylon seams are durable, tight, but broad, as shown in other customers pictures for this hat. I was hoping for an all-wool inside, even if the top is made in pieces sewn together. That would only matter if you need at hat for extreme cold, since the inside is not one piece of wool. The seam at the top is a good feature when walking, moving, since it allows a little more cooling on the crown of the head. The top-seam is more of a concern when you are sleeping with the hat on, like when camping in freezing weather. You would need to put an extra wool sock on top of your head, under the seam, to conserve heat. ;o) Since each item is hand made from natural materials, there is bound to be some variability in quality. If the hat doesn't pass inspection when new, contact the seller, who was concerned about my problems, and got me a better hat for a replacement. (If you buy one, tug on the strings, (but don't yank), to be sure they won't leave the hat-flaps flapping in the wind ;o) Treat the leather with a waterproofing conditioner (ie. mink oil) once a year and after it gets wet, and store it in a dry place. This durable hat will last decades, or longer, if you take care of it. Gentle cold wash with detergent made for wool (Dr. Bronners Castile Soap, Woolite, etc.) and air dry ONLY if it gets dirty. It will shrink a size or two if put in a heated wash or dryer. Made in Turkey.
