Lived-In Style: The art of creating a feel-good home

Some interior design books are frankly disappointing, especially when you are buying on line. This is when the review are so important. This book is lovely with great photographs and one to which I will return again and again.

Loved looking and reading through this book, full of ideas and examples of warm inviting spaces.Great advice on creating a home unique to you, with a plethora of images/photos of rooms to inspire.

This collection of profiles of quirky, individualistic homes and their owners is my new favorite decorating book. Almost every home makes my heart beat a little faster with the owners' inventiveness and sense of style. Ki Nassauer has done a wonderful job of scouting out homes in a range of styles from coastal cool to Midwest granny. What all of them share in common is a decorating viewpoint based on the individual tastes of the people living in them. No cliches or trends here--just vintage galore, styled beautifully. I was worried that the book would simply be a recycled compilation of homes that have already appeared in Nassauer's Lived-In Style online magazine, but that's not the case. Only one of the homes looked like something I'd seen before, so all of the content was fresh. Beautiful, inspiring writing by Nassauer and photos by Edmund Barr.

The content of the book itself is fine but something is amiss with the binding. Not sure if the pages are too thick for it but I’ve only just opened and started it gently and the binding is cracking. Very odd

I loved everything about this book: the text, the photography, the ideas, the inspiration. This books truly encourages readers to create homes of their own, incorporating items they have collected over the years. I love her tips on how to display collections and arrange furniture. She encourages the reader to mix things up and rotate items periodically, storing some items to be displayed later. I hated to come to the end of this book. I am sure I will be picking it up again and again for inspiration and tips.

I was so excited to get this book and I have read through it several times, even taking notes as I read. The photos are gorgeous and full of inspiration to help you create a home that is personal and uniquely you.

I love this book. Excellent content - fabulous photos and great design tips. Sadly, however, the book arrived falling apart. I’d love a replacement since I purchased a new book. At this rate, the cover will not be attached to the book for long.
