Q: I have a 32 inch element, will this mount fit my tv?

It worked on my 32" Sony visao television.

Q: I,d like to mount my 29" Samsung LED on the UNDERSIDE of the lid on a lift top chest so I can hide the TV. What do you think?

How far apart are the slots for the screws? 4 inches??

Q: How big is the part that goes againts the wall?

300 millimeter long, is about 11 1/2" long. So if mounting holes on back of TV are more than 11 1/2" apart (without modification), brackets that mount on TV (that grip this wall mounted plate) will not be far enough apart, to grip plate properly . FYI- this TV Mount leaves TV 'totally flat' against wall (no tilt at all), so TV wall height critical for viewing when seated or laying .
