Great quality and perfect for brewing cold teas.
Great bottles for brewing cold tea. I brew various varieties of Japanese teas in these. The filter in the top is good. No leaves in the tea glass. They would also be nice to use for water bottles on the dining table, to serve chilled water.

great for cold brew tea
I have several of these to keep the cold brew tea flowing. We don't drink coffee, but lots of tea. I typically use 4 - 5 tsp of my favorite loose tea and then fill with water. It steeps in the fridge for at least 4 hours and I have fantastic tea. I love all sorts. Before pouring, I will give it a little shake (lid still on and filter situated in the top proper), let it settle a bit, then pour. The lid fits nice and tight so no leakage. I really like that there is very little plastic (only the filter) - the base is glass and the top is silicone. Everything is easy to wash - I just pop it in the dishwasher (the lid, cap, and filter all on the top rack, and the glass container in the bottom). Highly recommended if you like to have iced tea at the ready - get two!

Works well
Good size, stood up in dishwasher for 2 years. After 2 years though, the filter partially dissolved in the dishwasher. Still a useable bottle, just can't use looseleaf now.

Leaks! The lid does not screw on, it pops on. As a result, the thing leaks after use.
I put lots of spices in olive oil. So I needed something to filter them when pouring. After much searching, I was ecstatic to find this version. Well, after 8 months of use, now I'm am just annoyed. Yes, it filters the spices. The problem is with the lid design. It just pops on. There are no threads. So, after pouring the oil, somehow the oil travels up and over the jar and under the silicone lid and leaks all over. It makes a mess, every. single. time. Ugh. I'm back to looking for another one. I will try this one with water/tea going forward. And, yes, it cleans easily.

Form AND Function
Fantastic bottle for cold brewing green tea in the humid NY summers. It's the perfect combination of form and function and I love that it's glass, not plastic. I will definitely be buying more from Hario
