A great comfort to my elderly cat!
My 13 year old male cat started having symptoms of Arthritis and was beginning to limp on one of his hind legs. He also has suffered from mild Vestibular Disease for several years and does a lot of stumbling with his hind legs...especially when he goes in circles when he begs for food. It has been sad to see this normally very active cat...even at his age...having so much difficulty walking. I no longer get him his yearly shots because of the Vestibular problems so I wanted something natural to give him for the Arthritis and my Veterinarian suggested Dasuquin, which I tried and with in a week I noticed a big difference in his walking. No more limping and the stumbling that has bothered him for about 3 years now has been dramatically reduced. He is now, after almost the entire bottle becoming a lot more active like he use to be and even plays running games with our newest kitten who is now 8 months old. Today I just purchased my second bottle of Dasuquin and I even ordered another bottle for our 11 year old German Shepherd who is having Arthritis problems too. If it works as good for the dog as it did for the cat I will be buying this for the rest of the lives of my pets!! It has really eased the pain in my cat and he and I could not be happier! UP DATE: 1/5/2012.... My now 14 year old cat is still doing extremely well on these supplements and I will continue to give them to him...they also have been very helpful with his urinary problems ...the avocado supplement in the capsules also coat the bladder and he has been problem free for as long as he has been on these supplements. The 12 year old German Shepherd has not done as well in the long run on these...he has other more serious problems than just joint problems so he is on other "prescription " medications. Since my cat is doing so well I am going to keep him on them for as long as he lives. He is more active...for a while he was not so very active and these supplements brought him back to his old self!! However...if you are considering giving these supplements to your cat...I would definitely ask your Vet do not give them to your pets just on the recommendations that you read here or any where for that matter. Then I would buy them here on Amazon...they have the best deals...you don't have to rely on rebates from your Vet that you may or may not get and if your Vet tells you that you "have" to get them from his or her office...that is so wrong...Vets offices charge so very much for any and all the products they sell and they mark the prices up so very high just so they can make more money and most Vets will tell their employees and all other Vets that work in their offices to "recommend" as much as you can to the pet owners because they know people care so much for their pets that they will buy almost any thing at any price...they are there to make money on what they sell!!! My Vet use to work for one of these "types" of Vets and she is not like that...she goes out of her way to find me a bargain and she has personally gone on-line to check the prices on Amazon for me and told me other places to purchase some of the things "she sells in her office" because she knows times are hard now. This supplement is no different than what you get in the Vets office...I have saved the empty bottle that I got the first time from the Vets office and it is identical to the one's I get here on Amazon...no difference...no out of date bottles...all have been sealed 2 times..on the out side and under the lid...none have made my cat sick...all have helped him!! These are not any sort of prescription/controlled substance at all...all these ingredients are in the human counter part/supplements that can be bought in a drug store or in places like Sam's Club...sort of like buying either from your Vets office or Amazon...no difference...just cheaper!! UPDATE: 12/7/2012....4 months ago I took my elderly cat for his check up and urine test, since he has been on a special diet for urinary problems his whole life he has never ever had a clear urine test...always there has been a small amount of blood/ infection and or crystals...this was the first time his urine has been completely clear and this has ONLY been since using the Dasuiquin!! Now I am even more positive I will continue to give this supplement to him. I even feed him regular food from time to time with no problems what so ever!

ESSENTIAL!! Our fur babies don’t have to suffer in pain!!
My 21 year-old female feline would not be walking today as well as she does without this stuff. I just sprinkle it on her food once in the morning once in the evenings, mix it in her wet cat food with a little warm water. It’s been a lifesaver/extender for her. I’m very grateful.

Dasuquin is the cousin to Cosequin, only better
I think this is a quality and necessary product for cats with arthritis, joint pain, and mobility issues. I like Dasuquin better than Cosequin because of the ingredients. While they are similar, meaning they both contain glucosamine hydrochloride and chondroitin sulfate, Dasuquin contains some extra very special ingredients found in human joint supplements, and that's the reason I choose this product instead of Cosequin. One of those ingredients is boswellia serrata extract, a very effective anti-inflammatory. My husband uses this a Standard Process supplement that contains boswellia for his joints, and I like that it is available for my cats in Dasuquin. Another ingredient: ASUs, or avocado- soybean unsaponifiables, to reduce pain and improve joint function. The only ingredient it doesn't contain, and I wish it did, is hyaluronic acid, which is available in other products made by the manufacturer, Nutramax. Nutramax makes a variety of supplements for other health issues. There are other products promoted for arthritis and joint pain, such as the Assisi Loop, Thermotex far infrared pet bed, laser treatments, or Adequan injections. But even when I use them with my cats, I continue to keep them on Dasuquin for their joint health.

A supplement worth trying - I saw decided improvement, less pain & more discernible agility in a Senior cat ~
The Senior Cat died just over a month ago aged 18. The vet had recommended Dasuquin as she became increasingly arthriticky even after years on that other 'quin' product - Cosequin. From aged 14 onwards, she was on one Dasuqin daily: I opened the capsule and mixed it in with the wet food and it was never refused. Now who knows if Dasuquin made a real difference or not? All I know is that as a doting owner, I won't quibble if I'm informed that a supplement MAY help but rather, I did what most of us who dote on our pet would do: unhesitatingly plunk down the money and hope it adds to our animal's quality and longevity of life. I changed to buying it from this source because it was much less expensive than getting it via the vet. It took a few months to work fully, but I could see (or thought I could see - same thing, really!) a slight though distinct improvement in the Senior Cat's comfort. She moved less stiffly after a while and this wasn't my imagination since her comfortable quarters were located upstairs and it meant several trips up and down stairs daily to access her Room and Board facilities. Over time, she dragged her back leg less and seemed to get up and move around with far less discomfort. I'm convinced the regular and daily use of Dasuquin made her life during those last years somewhat less painful due to old bones and arthritis. I continued it as part of her daily food routine. The only other supplements she got was the occasional hairball/tartar control snacks and a daily vitamin powder made for Dogs, Cats and Horses. That's it. No treats. Now I'm the least gullible person but when it comes to my pets, I'm gullible as Gomer Pyle and will try anything to make them content and easy. The Scottish Fold lifespan is usually 13-15 years so I suppose I should take comfort in that, at least. I would encourage anyone reading this to try the Dasuquin after checking with your Vet first and even BUYING it from them at the start to level the playing field in favour of smaller, local businesses. I wish I'd had the financial wherewithal to put money where mouth is and had bought Dasuquin from my Vet instead, but having a pet is also a serious financial commitment that needs budgeting if you're someone other than Charlie Munger! Everyone reading this knows - and if you don't, you should - that the time will come (if you're lucky and your animal lives long and well!) when your beloved pet is beyond the help of any supplement, tincture or medication. There's no panacea for that loss. But while they're alive and under your care, I can say with a good deal of certainty that Dasuquin can play its part in keeping them more comfortable and ambulatory than not. Such has been my experience with Dasuquin. Thank-you for reading this review - I trust it's been useful to you ~

Easy to use but my cat just didn't like it. I'm not sure if it's the flavour or if she is too finicky.
