I bought this as a gift for someone. It is a flashback to our childhood. As a gift, it comes in an attractive box worthy of gift-giving. Of course I had to play with it before wrapping. I didn't think was too great at give answers right away, but I guess that's because it had been sitting on a shelf a long time before it was sent. I shook it up and no problems after that, all kinds of answers popped up. The answers seem to be a little small, but then, it's probably more of my eyesight.... not quite the same from when I was a child. The gift was well received, and my friend is having lots of fun with her grandkids and this gift. I knew she would.

Great quality arrived the next day

In a recent discussion group, half the members had never heard of a Magic 8 Ball. Since it was my favorite childhood toy, I purchased one for every member of the group. What fun we had asking it questions & sharing the ball's responses. One member shared hers w/ her autistic grandson who shared it w/ his schoolmates. Though they are not constructed as well as the one in my youth, the 8 Balls still brought a lot of fun to a group of octogenarians as well as to a middle school group. Try it, you'll like it!

Not to wax hyperbolic, but I honestly didn’t have a lot of expectations for this little toy, other than a throwback to childhood nostalgia. I realized that I had not had an eight ball for probably 40 years, and spontaneously I decided to push the button and go for it. It was cheap, and I was longing for my youth. Here’s the thing: this is the finest eight ball I have ever used. And why I say that, is because every eight ball I’ve ever used it’s very difficult to see what the eightball actually says. Somehow they don’t print those letters crisply enough and especially with older eyes, it can be very difficult to make out with the thing even says. I noticed that as years past, eight balls got more and more shoddy, what can you say. Except that this eight ball looks like a vintage eight ball, and the little word thing that floats is the sharpest, clearest text I’ve ever sent on an eight ball. In fact, I have never seen texts this clear on a 8 ball. Ever. So that was completely unexpected, and damn, but I was impressed. I am older it doesn’t take much. But I am taking a photograph because it truly is a wonder, not to mention that this thing was priced at nine dollars which is six or seven dollars below the name brand toy company that owns the actual eight ball is. So I love it, and I am absolutely thrilled that I bought it, and you will be too.

Fun addition to a Halloween dinner table scape. Not the heavy quality I remember from my youth, but it does the trick.
