I still need to use my tub as a TUB. With a stopper. Most hair catchers don't allow you to do that. You would have to switch back and forth. This catches my hair (and as a curly girl, there is often a lot of hair!) and still allows me to bathe my nieces without switching. I will say that the first one I ordered arrived damaged. one little plastic piece was broken, so the whole thing would not work. Hopefully that's not an indication that it won't hold up. But otherwise...so far, so good!

First the issues, the "locking" mechanism that keeps the bottom half attached to the tub drain isn't secure and basically just makes it so you can pull up on the top half to open the drain...not a big deal, but could have been engineered better. My biggest issue was that someone hit the drain top with the foot and it completely broke off, rendering it useless after a week. That being said, it worked great for a week, much better than the tub shroom design that doesn't allow the drain to be plugged.

I wish I'd found this sooner! I live in a mid-century house with several missing drain stoppers. Why were they missing? It was like that when I moved-in. Why hadn't they been replaced? Well, I learned why...I'd guess it's because the pipes are too darn small for most modern drain stoppers. What was a lady to do?! For years, I used a strainer plate. It was better than nothing...kinda. Hair still fell through it, it was a grime-magnet, and it was ugly. I stumbled upon the Drain Buddy Ultra Flo last week and decided to give it a whirl. This product is a game-changer! It's easy to install, sleek, and the slim profile is versatile for all kinds of drain sizes. So far, I'm a happy customer and highly recommend the Drain Buddy Ultra Flo.

Drain works great at catching hair but the material used didn't work well. The plastic hook holding the drain in place broke easily. The cap to plug the tub broke off easily. Just need to use stronger material.

I love this design! It is easy to use and so straight forward! It works really great and it seems to catch ALL of the hair! And it works really well as a tub stopper too!My biggest complaint is it just feels SO flimsy and cheap. Not sure how well it is manufactured either. My kids accidentally popped the top off the bottom part l—I was able to put it back together, but who knows how long it will hold up.The top part seems good, but where it attaches to the strainer part is just two little holes. The strainer seems to be very flimsy plastic and I’m always afraid of accidentally breaking it just when I am pushing it down or pulling it up to change it’s “mode”.Overall, I would say I am glad I got it, but I just wish it was a bit more sturdy. If it breaks, I probably won’t buy it again—unless it surprises me and lasts a LONG time. Right now I have had irte less than a year. Only time will tell.

I had a faucet clog in kids bathroom. I removed the original stopper with the tools and method I had at home and replaced with Drain buddy. It was a very easy and quick process to install the plug. Been using it for a couple of weeks and so far it works well with no clogs with the Drain Buddy. I had used another DIY drain clog removal kit before, but it did not work as well as drain buddy does.

I purchased this drain cover/strainer in March 2023. By August 2023, it was not holding up for its job. The gray plastic part that is to expand to have the tub drain not be covered to let water through, did not stay in the up position well. By 5 months, it wouldn't stay up at all. It is difficult to find a drain cover to fit every bathtub drain. We hoped the drain cover would stay up/open to let water through yet catch hair and also go down and plug the drain so a person could take a bath. Our drain must be slightly bigger than the cover because it could not keep the water from draining while taking a bath. After 2-3 months of use, the cover wouldn't stay up to let water through for a shower. Because the underneath part is lightweight plastic, the 2 pieces that collapse and expand loose their tight grip. To be a better product, it needs a way for it to stay open like a notch. Also, hair conditioner, or slimy stuff, collects on the hair that is caught. The hair does not come off easy. A waste of the planet's resources, my time and money.

The hardest part of buying this drain was removing my previous screwed in drain which I had to snake constantly. The tub shroom is an easy and aesthetic way to not have to deal with standing in shower water for too long. I have long hair that clogs the drain quite frequently and unclogging the drain has never been easier. The only thing I don't really like is the plastic frame. It's a little flimsy and the hair gets ultra tangled in the mesh and is a little tough to remove. Even though I don't think this will be a sturdy long lasting product, it's certainly a product I would buy again to replace because it has probably the best design.
