Plastic Materials deform and break making these useless.
I bought these to stretch some dress shoes and sneakers with stretchable leather content. The first pair of leather slip on dress shoes, did not require much stretching and could have been handled with a standard spring loaded shoe tree.. However, I noted that to get any appreciable change, that you need to keep these on a shoe for several days, and continue to tighten as the leather slowly stretches. Right at the point where my New Balance shoes were close to where I wanted, the soft plastic on one of these shoe stretchers deformed and broke. I wrote the manufacturere to request that they replace with new ones (hopefully stronger plastic), but they did not respond. I can't recommend a tool that cost 1/2 the price of a pair of quality shoes, that breaks.

Spot stretching plugs not placed where helpful.
I really liked the stretchers inserts for the instep and was looking forward to using them, but unfortunately the holes for placing the spot stretchers were not placed where they could be of any use. Instead of being able to stretch where arthritis or bunions create pressure on joints, the holes were simply placed on the outer perimeter. This was not helpful at all. Since I need to compensate for my advancing arthritis as well as naturally wide feet with high insteps, these would not do the job for me and I returned them.

Love these shoe stretchers
I needed two pairs of my shoes to be made just a little bit larger. They were both new shoes that I liked but could not wear because they were just a little to tight. I purchased the shoe stretchers and placed them in the shoes for two days and now I can wear the shoes.

Poor design
This poorly designed streacher will only work on shoes with a very low back to the shoe near the heal. If you need to stretch anything other than a low cut loafer, look elsewhere.
