Gentle Relief Without The Foggy Side Effects
Been struggling with the winter blues for years and always hesitant about prescription options after a bad experience with SSRIs. Decided to give these St John's Wort tablets a go after my sister recommended them, and I'm genuinely impressed with the difference they've made. Started taking them about six weeks ago when the shorter days were really getting me down. Didn't notice much for the first two weeks, but then gradually realized I wasn't waking up with that familiar sense of dread. My mind feels clearer, and I'm not snapping at the kids over little things anymore. The dosage is straightforward - one tablet twice daily. They're a decent size but not those massive horse pills some supplements come as. No unpleasant taste either, which is a bonus. The bottle says they're vegan too, which matters to my daughter who's staying with us currently. What I appreciate most is the lack of side effects. No drowsiness, no weird dreams, no dry mouth - all issues I've had with prescription options. I can actually function normally while taking these, which wasn't the case before. At 120 tablets, the bottle lasts two months, making them reasonably priced for the relief they provide. For anyone experiencing mild anxiety or that slightly low mood that just won't shift, especially during these gloomy British winters, these are worth trying before jumping to stronger options. They've helped me feel more like myself again without feeling artificially "happy" or zonked out. Will definitely be keeping these in my medicine cabinet year-round.

Consider giving these a try!
I've been taking these at the recommended dose of 2 tablets per day for just over a month now and I would say that they have brought some improvement to how I feel. It seemed to work fairly quickly and I did feel a difference in the first few days - but you may need to persist longer in taking them to see an effect. It's subtle, I'm not seeing everything in rainbows and unicorns, but I definitely feel less anxious/introspective and have also felt more motivated. I don't think it's just a placebo effect. Side effects: for me the main ones have been occasional headaches and maybe a bit of light-headedness/dizziness. I'm putting this down to the St. Johns Wort but there may not be a causal relationship. Even if these are from the tablets, those side effects are worth it for the improvement, for me at least. As some other reviewers have pointed out they are fairly large tablets, but I've found them manageable to swallow. You do need to be careful about interactions with other medicines you may be taking - St. Johns Wort has a long list of medications that it can interfere with, so do make sure to do your research/get medical advice before taking them.

Great natural boost when I needed it
Having experience many months of insomnia and depression after a difficult trauma, I decided to try St John's Wort. As advised, whilst taking the tablets I cut out caffeine, chocolate and alcohol, so it could be said that this contributed to the positive effect. However, the quantities of these food/drink items was already low. It took 3 weeks before I noticed any difference to my mood. By week 5 I started to feel much more emotionally stable and able to sleep again. I work within the mental health sector, so appreciate that exercise, diet and relaxation are all important for wellbeing, but St John's Wort was a great natural boost when I needed it. This herb can (for some people) react badly to strong sunlight, causing skin blisters, so when the supply of St John's Wort ran out at the start of the Summer, I switched to 5-HTP. This worked really well as a follow up (see my separate review for Solgar 5-HTP).

Postive change for me!
After a particular painful and difficult two years with some huge life changes, I was starting to rebuild me life but still felt quite low and anxious daily on my new journey, I felt like I needed a little help along the way. Had read about these and the benefits in the past but had always been on the contraceptive pill so was unable to try them. Off those now and thought I would give these herbal remedies a try rather than going to the drs. I have been on them around 6 weeks now so feel this is a good time to review. They are biggish round flatish pills but I don't struggle to swallow if I have a big gulp. I was struggling emotionally before I took them and my reactions were highly anxious based making me feel out of control. I feel what I can only describe as a sense of calm. I have been through some difficult times even recently and I feel with a calmer clearer head I am able to think more rationally towards situations and find solutions easier without panic. I no longer wake up with the feeling of dread or panic. Which is a game changer I am more engaged with my children and I am laughing more and enjoying life more. It doesn't numb my emotions but makes them easier to deal with. With less panic on my head my confidence has also grown making usual tasks feel less daunting, even socially I feel much less anxious than I did. Stronger as a person these have actually been life changing for me. Can't say they will work for everyone but for me they work like a dream. It's made me put my worries into perspective. I'm much less stuck in my head now and more action based. No side effects for me at all either which is a bonus

The use of St John's Wort extract interferes with MANY medicines, and the insert within the box has a list of these with a statement not to use the product with them. Returned the item. The seller should put a copy of the insert slip with the item photos.
