Much better than a lap strap for small children.
Really good for providing a much better and safer restraint for small children on aircraft. It does need some cooperation from the person sat behind to slot the strap under their tray table but we found people were happy to help. My only concern was whether the product was genuine but as far as I can tell it does seem to be.

Love this
I have used this on 6 flights now, both on Ryanair and KLM. On KLM you need to tell them that you plan to use this in advance and they add it to your booking so make sure you tell them at least a few days before your trip. After using this on a short flight I realised you really need a sticky mat so that the child doesn't slide down, especially on "leather" seats. I bought this for £3: B07JWKPD8J (search the code on amazon) and it worked perfectly and I just washed it after use in the sink with fairy liquid as it got the regular toddler food and drink messes on it during the flight. The harness itself isn't washable but can be wiped down if needed, just read the instructions to avoid damaging it. It has worked perfectly on various planes. It was easiest to sit at the back of the plane so that we didn't need to explain to the person behind us what we were doing, but thankfully we didn't have any issues with other passengers when we did need to set it up and move their tray table etc. It isn't possible/easy for a toddler to sleep with this so I mainly used it for take off and landing and let my child lie down with just the lap belt on when sleeping. Maybe a neck pillow would work but I haven't tried that. It is easy to fit this in your bag and doesn't take up much space at all. Good product, even though it is expensive.

Expensive but good well made simple to use product
Expensive but good well made product kept 2 year old in her seat for take off and landing which is what I was looking for and she was comfortable enough to have a little sleep. Very easy to use, it pushed her down a little in her seat so I can’t inagine using it for long periods of time but happy with it and it suited the purpose well. The airline checked it carefully and didn’t query us using it when I showed them the label so the fact it’s approved is important as they clearly wouldn’t have let us use another option for strapping her in other than the standard seatbelt.

Cares Child Aviation Restraint
Excellent product. A must for all parents travelling with toddlers to five year old. Why do the airlines not rent this product on flights or even have it on the plane for parents to use. A must for child safety. Have now used this on six flights and my granddaughter loves being able to sit by herself. We have used it on British Airways and all the crews had been given briefings on it and were pleased to see it in use. Other airlines such as Easy Jet, Ryan Air, BMI and Monarch need to allow parents to use it as it is so much safer than a lap belt or attacment to an adults seat belt. I have read the review about the need for a leg strap but this is probably a safety issue. The system still holds the child more securely than an adult belt especially during turbulence and in the event of an accident is less likely to cause injury to the child. A rolled blanket under the chids knees or a wateproof backed mat to sit on works great. Having to readjust the seat back retraining strap during flight has never been an issue, is it being put on properly to start with. Adjusting the harness itself on the child before using it on the plane works well

Traveling parents with a toddler
This has been a lifesaver for us. We’ve flown with our now 2 year old with this for the past 6 months and it’s been amazing. We have bought tickets for him and also have chanced it without a ticket in hopes we might get lucky and get a free seat next to us (happens often). For short or long haul flights it worked perfect. Even in countries like Thailand and China the stewardesses knew this was approved to be used on their flights (United, American Airlines, China Eastern, British Airways, Air Asia, Nok, Southwest Airlines have all been fine with it). This saved us from having to put him on our lap while taking off, landing and during turbulence (if your baby is asleep you know any disturbance is to be avoided). Even if you don’t buy a ticket for you baby it’s good to carry it in case you’re lucky enough to get a free seat next to you (for kids under 2). As for how well it holds your kid in place I’d say it’s a huge upgrade from just the seatbelt across the lap. I also found that my toddler will chill out more with it if he has it on (kinda like a car seat effect). However, they can slip under, but I put a small pillow under his legs to keep him from sliding. All in all I’d 100% recommend it.

Life saver
I have a son with additional need. He has difficulty sitting upright. This harness was a life saver and gave us an opportunity to take .y family on holiday. Very easy to use and has a holds well.

Not accepted on easyJet and the design is also flawed! Toddler just slid out!
This seat belt harness has a design flaw! There is no section for the crotch so the toddler can just slip out during any kind of turbulence or movement. Waste of time and money. Will try and find a better design/model for future air travel. They aren’t very user friendly either! It delayed our flight take-off as easyJet weren’t sure if we could use it originally. After a long wait, they said we could try it but they didn’t let us use it on the return flight. Saw flight company but different responses. The grip and functionality both need redesigning!

I found it essential for my child safety in case of turbulence or landing and take off The crew is always impressed and happy we took steps to keep the little one safe in the big seat

I got this so that my toddler would be more secure in her airplane seat. The good: it’s super light, about a pound and very easy to install. It can fit on any airplane seat, even lay flat first class seats. It helped to keep her in place, and I felt like she was safer during take off and landing. The bad: because there’s no crotch strap, she slides down in the airplane seat. Overall, if you want your toddler to be more secure on the airplane, get this! It’s easier to travel with than a car seat in flight.

I honestly didn't even know there was an alternative to bringing a carseat on the airplane until I did the research. This was pretty decent. It was easy to install/remove and adjust. Almost like their carseat buckles. It's small to carry on the airplane and compact, so that's always a bonus for your carry ons. It comes with a carry bag which is handy. The only downside is the limitation of the use. My son is pretty big for a 2 yr old, so he'll eventually grow out of it really quickly for travelling. I'd say if you're travelling a fair amount within their first few years then by all means the price is worth it instead of hauling a carseat around. BUT if you're only using it once then that's a pricey expense.
