will this work on a porcelin loo if i am gentle with it?

That’s an original application! I hope you don’t intend to clean your BBQ after cleaning the loo! It’s a strong metal scourer so I guess it might work, but there must be better ways of cleaning a loo with less risk of scratching it. I’d use a combination of bleach and a decent bog brush.

How you clean the brush itself afterwards?

Can I use on a cast iron grill

Yes. It is a great cleaning brush. I've literally just used mine. I just shut down the BBQ, then next time I fire it up I will until it is extremely hot and burn all the "bits" for the previous use and brush with cleaning brush. The angle allows you to get good pressure to what you are scrubbing.
