Lavazza Espresso Gran Crema ESE Coffee Pods 44mm (1 Pack of 150)

Excellent quality coffee in good quality ese pods. Bought these as a replacement for a poor batch of our regular Cialdissima product and is a marked improvement even on the previous decent versions. Coffee flow through the pod is excellent and a decent tasty cream. For this price, these pods are a steal 👍

Tastes better than Senseo and as easy to use. Good alternative for ground coffee when you are in a hurry

I normally buy Lavazza Gran Crema ESE but the price had increased so I looked for an alternative and bought Gran Espresso Intenso instead. Instead of saying to myself: what a lovely cup of coffee, I was thinking: how much longer will I have to wait before going back to the Gran Crema again! For me, I MUCH prefer the Lavazza Gran Crema. I have no idea what Sheerness is on this review, the flavour was OK but not great and the sell buy dates were far distant, hence the ESEs must have been fresh.

I've been a barista for a few years and I usually grind my own beans and extract my own espresso. However, when I'm in a rush I need something more convenient. I recently tried out Illy ESE pods and I loved them! The coffee has a good flavour with an impressive hazelnut toned crema. I always liked Lavazza for my filter coffee so I thought I would give them a try for ESE pods too. I wish I hadn't... The crema is very pale and thin, the extraction is strange, it comes out bubbly... I thought that it may have been my machine so I tested an illy pod... and that worked as good as always! (P.S I am in no way associated with Illy, this is just my comparison) I used 2 pods, I threw the first one out because I thought it was just a dodgy extraction but the second one was no better... Seeing as i only used 2 pods and the rest of them are still sealed I tried to start a return only to find that it can't be returned... I tasted it as an espresso and then as a white americano... it tastes watery and burnt at the same time. There is no note of any other flavour. I have actually had instant coffee better tasting than these pods! I'm not gonna drink these and seeing as I can't return them I'll give them to my worst enemy or something 😂 Any way, save your money and your taste buds. Your welcome 🤗

Writing a review on anything that you can eat or drink is obviously going to be subjective, so I thought I would give some background on my coffee experience. I have been using ESE pods for a number of years and have tried several different makes and blends and none of them have come close to the experience of sitting outside a cafe in Italy or France or Portugal and sipping an espresso watching the world go by. The coffee they sell always tastes rich and smooth with no bitter after taste, my closest ESE pod to this experience has been the illy brand however I find them too expensive and so I have been trying different brands in search of my coffee El Dorado. My routine is one mid-morning cup which I add warm milk to (something I don't do when on the continent) and sometimes I add sugar, depending on taste. I tried Lavazza because I thought it's a well known European brand and therefore should be okay but unfortunately, for me it leaves a burnt or bitter after taste on my tongue which lingers long after I have drank my coffee. The aroma is pleasant with only a slight "woody" smell and, as I have said, drinking it is also enjoyable if milk is added. To overcome the bitter after taste I now add sugar which is something I haven't had the need to do with any of the other brands I have tried. So to sum up this coffee for me is okay if milk and sugar is added however I won't be buy it again and will continue the search for my perfect Espresso.

A good quality product that was delivered next day as promised. Very happy with this coffee, good creme and cheaper than my usual brand.

I love these espresso pods. They allow me to use practically fresh ground coffee because they are vacuum, sealed, and most espresso makers do have the attachment to use these pods as opposed to tamping down grounds which make a mess. The taste is fantastic too.
