Prime Chess Hand Crafted Cherry Wooden Chess and Draughts Set 35 x 35 Centimeter

In the description of this product it states 'Best chess for the price' and I have to say it certainly lives up to its expectations. When I opened up the packaging I was warmly greeted with a charming yet gorgeous Chess and Draughts set. The pieces are of good sturdy quality but yet still have a delicate and detailed feel to them as well as the board they play on. The pieces are stored in the board and they fit in with ease with plenty of room for comfort. Also with this product it comes in a neatly fitted white cardboard box, now I know it may not seem much, but I am planning on going to University this year and hope to bring my Chess set with me so this box will act marvellously protecting the folded board inside, which is of course ideal. This product truly is unique and I am so happy that I found this offer I can't wait to play with this set over the years with my friends and family developing and forming friendships, while challenging them at the same time.

This Chess set is well worth 5 stars, It is the best wooden chess set we saw at the best price for what we where looking for in buying a chess set, It all folds away nice and neatly within its own box. It is a good size to so that your not straining to see the peaces. We have took this set camping with us and cause it is well protected it pacted away no bother. I would say some of the stained wood could be darker in both the black and whight peaces, you see this with the knights most. For my first good size chess set im not compling. I would recomend this chess set to anyone who wants a good set and would like it portable to.

I was slightly worried by a few of the photos/reviews on the site, but decided to go ahead with the purchase based on the 5* ratings. The board and pieces were intact, complete, and of decent quality - not a 5* display set, but fully stained and as good as I'd expected for the price. As others have said, there's no bag to hold the draught counters when the board is opened out to play - I've stored them elsewhere. It's a good-sized board. The pieces are light but probably robust enough to survive in the felt-lined compartment if they get rattled a bit.

A great gift for chess players and the option of draughts too. A little more expensive than other sets but it is great quality. A present for my 26 yr old son who is fab at Chess.

A beautiful little chess set. Very elegant with an overall feel of good quality and a pleasing woody aroma lol. You can buy better quality if you want it, but I think for the price this set is very adequate for my needs. It's a decent sized board and well made, and the pieces look nicely carved. The pieces fit nicely inside the folding board along with the draught pieces. The only negative aspect is having to take all chess and draught pieces out to play, and put them back again after. Personally I have bought a lovely smallish wooden pirate chest in which to store my pieces or at least just the draught ones. It's not a deal breaker but a sliding roof over the draught pieces would have been a nice touch. But then it is very nice to have the draught set included. I'm extremely pleased with my purchase.

No need to pawn it in

The pieces are well made, but the design idea is really poor. the board which also keeps the pieces for both games all have to be placed out before it can be turned over to set up chess play. The annoying thing is this includes the draught pieces. Then after the game they all have to put back. Doing this for every game you play with your children can be frustrating. I wish they could put a lid/lock or something inside for both sets separately. I was expecting better designed product than this at the price I paid. Overall, OK.

I love everything about this set. Firstly it's beautiful, moreso than the glass set I have. Although I thought I'd love the glass set more, I've fallen in love with this one. Secondly, all the pieces are lightweight but bottom-heavy which means that it's not easy to accidentally knock them over. Lastly, I love the feature it comes with, whereby the board folds in half. It has space to store all the pieces inside it, with a different compartment for black pieces, white pieces, and draughts/checkers pieces. It locks closed which means it is convenient to travel with and take around with you. I would recommend this to anyone looking to purchase a chess set.
