good product
The Polycraft GP-3481F RTV Silicone Mould Making Rubber 1.1Kg Kit is a high-quality, two-part liquid silicone rubber that is designed for making molds. It is easy to use and ideal for creating molds of intricate and detailed objects. The kit includes a base silicone and a catalyst that need to be mixed together in the correct proportions before use. Once mixed, the silicone rubber can be poured or brushed onto the object to be molded. It will then cure at room temperature to form a flexible, tear-resistant mold. The resulting mold can be used to cast a wide variety of materials, including resins, plasters, and even low-melt metals. The silicone rubber is also resistant to most chemicals and can be used for multiple casting sessions.Overall, the Polycraft GP-3481F RTV Silicone Mould Making Rubber 1.1Kg Kit is a high-quality and versatile product that is suitable for both beginners and experienced mold makers.

Works very well
Good long working time, so plenty of time to get the mix homogeneous; very sticky, so you need to wipe the edge of your pouring container at the end of the pour. Bubbles rise freely and pop immediately, the mix is self-levelling so no smoothing required. I use plasticine as a barrier around the item I'm taking the mould from and spray furniture polish as a release agent, worked in with a soft brush. Works very well, demoulds easily and any spillage just rubs away, leaving no residue. Much easier to use than the vinyl rubber I've used in the past. I've cast small chess pieces and they pop out of the moulds very easily, despite having quite large undercuts, thanks to the great flexibility of the rubber.

would buy again
Great stuff. Cover your work surface as it seems to get everywhere. However when set it just peels off so dont worry about mixing bowls, they peel clean. I bought a couple for the job rather than mess up kitchenware. Product is very firm when set but flexible (depends on how thick your casting is). 8 hours needed for setting. I left it overnight to be sure. Mixes easily and the hardener colour helps to ensure you get a complete mix. Dont forget to lubricate your mould to make it easier to remove , a thin smear of veg oil should work but i used a smear of coconut oil instead. Recommended, i would buy again.

Fantastic mould making material
This product works really well, you have to measure the silicone to catalyst accurately by weight, use good scales and make sure you mix really well so that the overall mix is a consistent light pink in colour. You then gently poor the mixture into a level mould, it finds it's own level so that is important. Any air bubbles which should be kept to a minimum, not only in the mixing stage but also in the mould pouring stage will escape slowly as the mixture sets. The resultant mould is strong, flexible, durable and can be used again & again. I used Plaster of Paris directly into the mould without any release agent and it worked fine, it peels away with ease and with a quick wipe it is ready to use again.

Great product but one problem
The big bottle of silicone rubber really doesn’t go far, the bottle wasn’t full to begin with and now I have more catalyst than silicone. So… do with that what you will but for £45 it seems pricey for the amount that you really get.

Good Stuff!
I recently did some work on my 25 year old kitchen and I needed a section of cornice. It was impossible to find the original type so I decided to try and make a mould of the shape. I cut a 200mm section from the existing cornice, I made a mould box (found on Youtube) I mixed the ingredients and poured it into the mould. When the mould cured I poured in modelling plaster and the end result was perfect. The original cut section was put back and the end result is perfect. I hope this review might give others some inspiration.

Does what it says on the tin
Being a newbie to silicon moulding I was a little unsure, but this product it super easy to work with, really like the fact you don’t need a vacuum chamber, i still used the poor from a high method for a little extra insurance.Really easy to mix up and work out volume etc. I used the dry rice method and it worked out perfect.I highly recommend this product.Just take your time with your prep work and use a good mold release and you’ll be cooking on gas.If it’s doesn’t go your way it’s user error so do a practice run before doing any big projects.

Excellent mould making material
This product is great to use. I took a mould of my favourite object, a little joss stick holder in the shape of a half moon. I only had to cut a small zig zag in the mould to get the item out and then filled it with wax to test if it would be viable to make a resin copy. All worked ok and I produced an excellent clean resin copy at the end with no bubbles in the mould or resin. Bought another one as I was so happy.
