Hycote Adhesion Promoter Spray 400ml

Potent stuff I used it to strip paint from an alloy wheel and it's very easy to apply and gets to work almost instantly. I applied the product left it for 5 minutes then power washed off the flaking paint,. 2 applications and it was down to bare metal a quick wire brush and prep and I was applying new paint an hour after opening the can.

Used this to strip the paint off a Reynold's steel bike frame. Did the job pretty well, you'll still need to finish the job with sandpaper or an angle grinder, but it'll get most of it off. It's probably not as good as the brush on stuff, but it makes up for it in how easy it is to apply.

I don't normally leave reviews, but after using this paint stripper today I felt I had to leave one. This did an amazing job on my 20 year old MTB that I'm respraying. In the past I've hand sanded the old paint to get down to the aluminium, but wanted to find a way to make it easier. This stuff was incredible. Within 30s the paint started to bubble. I waited 10 mins and scrubbed the paint off with a wire brush. After the 1st application, most of the paint was already off. After 2 more applications followed by scrubbing, the frame was completely free of paint. What used to take me about 30 hours of sanding, was done in less than 90 mins with Hycote paint stripper. I am truly surprised by how well this worked on old bicycle paint. Can't wait for my next project to use this again.

It starts to work straight away and layer by layer you can strip paint certainly. I wanted to strip four alloy wheels but I might be lucky to get one done before it runs out. It will take hours too. If you want to work on a smallish job and there are tight spaces involved that are difficult to sand then this will be invaluable.. if like me you want to do more then the time and expense will probably mean it’s not viable. Be prepared to have to scrape and clean and reapply again and again but in some cases it will be well worth it.

This is good the nozzle has a very definite spray so you know where it’s going too

I purchased this to remove paint from my 1970's motorbike, but it hasn't touched it. That's the matt black on the engine, the clear lacquer on the engine, the frame and the petrol tank. It's totally useless. I would give it O star, but I can't, so I have to give it a 1, just so I can write a review to warn others.

Product was effective at removing paint from my ugly storage heater. Fast working and bubbles up easy to scrape off.
