Good trimmer, excellent stubble collection capabilities, I wonder how robust the guide will be...
I keep a pretty short beard, my trimmer is set for around 3mm so that might have a bearing on my experience. In terms of trimming it's very good, is it quite as good as the Wahl trimmer I had before, probably not, but not enough to knock a star off. As far as collecting the stubble I've found it very effective, at a guess I'd say 80 to 90%. I shave over the side of the sink to catch the edge of the mirror and there's very little that I have to clean up whereas you can see that a lot has been collected in the trimmer. It really does a great job, the only concern is how robust the plastic guide is at it needs to be removed to access the collected stubble.

Vacuum system works well enough for this to be a good buy!
I like to have a 'stubble' beard of approximately 2-3 days growth. With the Philips BT7202, it seems fairly easy to maintain this appearance. The vacuum system works well to keep the hair mess down, although it is not a perfect system as there are still bits of hair in the sink. However, it is much much better than my previous trimmer for which I had to spread a newspaper over the sink to collect the bits of hair that flew off at all angles!I like the method of adjusting the cutting length of the comb attachment (just turn the dial) but it is a bit fiddly when you need to remove/replace any of the heads - if you rush, I feel the bits are prone to breaking - only time will tell. The trimmer is also a bit bigger than you might expect but apart from the above points, the trimmer is good value and the vacuum works well enough for me to use it whenever I want, without having to worry about cleaning up the mess after!

Great beard trimmer
I previously owned an earlier version of this type of Phillips razor to trim my beard and enjoyed the reduction in mess it provided. However the trimmer got old quite quickly so I replaced it with this one. I must say this is a vast improvement over the older one with the vacuuming of the hairs far more efficient and a nicer and smoother cut. It's also far easier to clean and the charge lasts a good long time. My only negative would be that the blade guard legs feel quite flimsy and I feel it might be quite easy to break when reassembling after cleaning. That said, it hasn't happened yet.

Razor head breaks easily.
The most disappointing thing about this trimmer is that the razor head/attachment's pins that hold the razor to the trimmer are made from flimsy plastic and break very easily. The original attachment broke in about a year. I bought a second one, it lasted 3/4 months before also breaking. The mess it leaves behind isn't much, but it's enough to not bother with a trimmer with an integrated vacuum system because I always end up cleaning up after myself anyway. I know they say "up to 90%" and I thought I could wash the rest down with water, but no, it's more like 40% and if you wash the rest it'll clog up the drain so it's kinda pointless.

Brilliant trimmer
I had an old Philips beard trimmer. It did an OK job and gathered about half of the hairs. I wasn't unhappy with it, but the battery died. This new model, however, does a really good job. It does gather a lot of the hairs - I'd just about believe 90%. It trims much better than the old one and seems to get those annoying hairs under the chin which in my case are really soft & previous trimmers have missed completely.I use the trimmer at relatively short settings (4mm, 6mm), so I can't speak for longer trims, but this does what I want & does it well - my wife has even stopped complaining about hairs in the sink!!!I have one criticism - it's a bit messy emptying out the hairs (but then there's no door with a catch to break off, so perhaps it's not entirely a bad thing.)

Poor build quality and performance
I rarely write reviews but this product is of such poor quality I think it might be in the interests of other Amazon buyers to be aware. While the variety of beard lengths is good, the desired length is achieved via the use of a plastic clipper head which is attached and detached from the clipper unit. The clipper head is attached by two very thin plastic lugs. They are very thin - under 1 mm thick. Also, in order to use the detail clipper attachment for shaping and tidying edges, the clipper head has to be removed and the detail attachment fitted. To trim one's beard and do any detail shaping means the two attachments must be switched. Time consuming and fiddly. With the fragile plastic lugs, it looked like it was only a matter of time before the clipper head broke. I was right. I probably switched between the attachments 20-30 times before one of the beard clipper plastic lugs broke rendering the clipper head unuseable. Worse though was that the design of the clipper head meant that it failed to trim the hair under my nose and I had to use nail scissors to trim this. As other reviewers have noted, the trimming action is very poor and I had to go over my beard multiple times to get an even trim. It's the slowest beard trimming experience I've had.Although the product was under warranty, I found it so poorly designed and irritating to use on a daily basis that I threw it in the bin and bought an alternative product. I would strongly recommend you pay the extra £15 or so for the BaByliss for Men Super Stubble XTP Beard Trimmer. The difference in built quality and perfomance is stark.

Best version so far!
Wow, this is by far the best version of the Philips vacuum trimmer so far. I have had the others over the years with the little door on the front to allow for beard clippings to be emptied out but the catch always broke after a while resulting in it being held closed with a rubber band. This has an easliy removable trimming guide and clipper blade which can both be rinsed under the tap. However you cannot rinse the main unit you must use a small brush to clean that out if you do you'll break it! The great thing for me is that it can trim far closer than the old units could right down to 0.5mm! Believe me that is a LOT closer than the old QT4050 models etc. It gives a uniform cut for me. I trim up my face from the neck line overlapping by half the width of the trimmer each time so as not to miss any hairs. I think some people have complained about its ability to accurately give a close trim but I cannot fault it at all.

More trouble than it was worth
It does its job, but the vacuum function is almost more trouble than just cleaning up the sink. You need to constantly be emptying it in order to have space to trim more which means pulling it apart every few seconds. Also, be careful when you order as I was send a European plug with mine (had to get an adapter before I could even try it out). No where on the page indicated it was a European plug and it was ordered of Amazon.ca.
