Excellent iron, worth every penny
This is the best iron I've ever owned. Big heating plate, heats up quickly, generates lots of steam and gets rid of creases quickly and easily. Did the kid's school uniforms for the week in about half the time it took with my last iron. It is heavier than most irons, but you don't notice it while you're ironing, it also means it holds a lot more water so you don't have to keep topping it up while ironing a big load of clothes.

Strong powerful iron. Does the job!!
I bought this to replace my old iron which leaked all over my rug so I wanted one that didn’t leak. This iron is 3100w which is a significant increase over my 2400w previous iron. Essentially it means that it heats up quick and steams even quicker and more efficiently.. but knowing that I still had no idea how good it was. I filled the reservoir, which was easy through the very large hole using the supplied filler. I plugged it in and immediately noted it was noticeably heavier than my previous iron. The shape of the sole plate is interesting. It has a narrow front with indents - useful for the button areas and small intricate places. My previous iron had steam but it was kind of constantly on and was annoyingly loud. This iron turns on the steam the second you start to iron and stops the second it’s upright. I noticed immediately the difference in its power. On cottons it powers through them and jeans are almost fun to do as they are so easy! I have only used it twice so I haven’t explored all of the functions but so far so good. It’s also worth noting the lead is very long and reassuringly thick. You can tell it’s a quality item. The downsides is that it is heavy and the lead doesn’t wrap round the iron, so a clip or similar might be worth getting.

Lovely iron, does a great job!
My new Russell Hobbs steam iron arrived today (fast delivery!), and I couldn’t resist giving it a whirl straight out of the box. Let me tell you — this thing means business. It’s noticeably heavier than my old iron, and honestly, I love that. It feels sturdy, solid, and ready to flatten even the most stubborn creases into absolute submission. I had my old iron for around 8 years, so I’m really hoping this one will beat our old faithful — and judging by first impressions, it definitely has a head start! The real magic, though, is how beautifully it glides. It’s like sliding a hot knife through butter — smooth, satisfying, and weirdly addictive. I kept finding extra things to iron just because it felt so nice to use! The steam power is fantastic, the heat is consistent, and the whole thing has that “built to last” feel. Overall: great iron, great performance, great buy. If ironing can ever be described as enjoyable… this iron gets it pretty darn close!

Good iron
Really happy with this iron. As with other reviews, yes it is a little heavy but I like the weight of it ,you don't need to add pressure yourself. Nice and smooth and takes creases out easily even after tumble dried. Arrived in good time and well packaged

The Furious Deity of the Laundry Pantheon
★★★★★ (5/5 - A Steam-Powered Annihilation of Wrinkles) Let's be clear. This is not an 'iron'. That word is for the sad, sputtering travel gadgets that timidly exhale damp onto a shirt collar. This is a portable weather system. A 3100-watt, 210-gram-per-minute typhoon in a sleek plastic shell, dedicated to the righteous flattening of creases. It doesn't so much press fabric as it issues it a pardon. From the moment it heats up—which takes roughly the time it takes to blink in awe—it hums with a latent, purposeful power. The soleplate glides with the malevolent ease of a hockey puck over a freshly Zambonied rink. But the true spectacle is the steam. The burst button doesn't release vapour; it unleashes a geyser of penitent heat that causes the most stubborn fold to repent instantly, leaving behind the smooth, guiltless plane of freshly fallen snow. It transforms a Sisyphean chore into a brief, cathartic demonstration of dominance over the chaotic world of linen. Shirts sigh into submission. Tablecloths spread out in serene, flat surrender. It is almost too effective; you start eyeing curtains and duvet covers with a newfound, steam-based ambition. Five stars. It is terrifyingly, joyously competent. My laundry pile no longer intimidates; it merely awaits its scheduled atmospheric reckoning. A magnificent brute of domestic science.

Verdict - What works well and what doesn't
I'm writing this review after using the iron a few times.. I find it’s best to capture first impressions with items like this as I tend to get used to odd quirks and start to work around them What works well # IRONING CAPABILITY - Seems very good - hot temp works well, glides well, notch for use around buttons is useful - initial finish on clothes is good. # WEIGHT - The iron is towards the heavy end of what's available - I like this! - It sounds as if the weight might require more effort to use, but I actually find having to apply more downward pressure using a light iron harder work than sliding a heavier one from side to side. # SPEED TO HEAT - the 3100W makes a difference - it's right up to top temp in a matter of seconds - this works well for me as the thing I iron most of are cotton shirts .. I actually iron very little on a low setting. # STEAM - This feature works well - but it's not a big one for me. As mentioned on the box when it arrives the iron will have a little water residue in it where the steam / spray function has been tested. I actually prefer to use a separate water spray bottle as in the past I've found water reservoirs eventually get a bit grubby and will occasionally leave a spot on a shirt (always at the end when you've ironed the whole thing!) I prefer to keep the iron clean and dry and apply water as I go using a simple garden spray bottle. What could be better # HANDLE - While this is ok I did find the steam buttons at the front of the handle got in the way a little - not to the point where it was a real problem, but it just made the handle a little less comfortable than it could have been # COILING CABLE - This is a little annoying - there is nowhere to coil the cable around the iron after use - having said that I often leave mine out in a spare room.. but not great if you need the space and want to keep it out the way - also think irons left out are extremely dangerous re small kids or pets .. so ability to coil the cable would be useful. OVERALL I like it so far - it feels substantial heats up quickly and irons well.

Very Heavy and hard to store
This Iron is very good, it has a good pointy front abd glides well, heats up quickly and great steam, however I have afew negative points ! The little water tank has got quite a flimsy lid, if iron was dropped or damaged this would get badly damaged. The iron itself is very heavy, if you like a very heavy iron this could be a good thing as it adds extra pressure whilst ironing. My main gripe is not being able to wind the really long and very thick cord around the iron when finished. The long cord is useful when ironed but very bulky on storage. This is very annoying and would put me off buying again, its a design problem though
