Perfect gift
I got this for my boyfriend. I’ll try to update with photos when he gets it all set up in our green house. I love the variety of seeds and how many of each you get. A great value for the price. The box is compact and a good size to store easily. The instructions seem clear and simple to follow. Everything included is sturdy and high quality. My boyfriend has always wanted a bonsai tree and is so excited to get these started. I love the joy this gift has given him!He has been researching for weeks and preparing the perfect spot to get the trees started. Five star reaction for a five star product!

Pretty Cool Bonsai's!
Bought this as a gift for someone who loves indoor plants. She said it was very easy to follow instructions, and they germinated quickly! She now has a nice variety of bosnai's growing in her home!

Super cute gift
I originally purchased this as a gift but when I received the gift. It was so cute, I decided to keep for myself. When I opened the box, I loved how nicely packed everything was. All of the items were in the box itself which could be used as the base for the garden. Very easy to use. Followed the instructions and was happy to see the Cilantro and Basil growing. Unfortunately the Parsley and Thyme didn't grow. I must have overwatered because around the base of the tag, it looked like it started to get moldy. I still had some seeds left so I could have scraped the top and tried again but wasn't sure if the soil would now be considered contaminated. Even so, I cleaned out the other two containers and kept them on the side. May just get seeds from home depot and some soil and try to replant something else when I find the time. Overall a very cute gift and I love that I have a indoor herb garden! I was excited to snip some basil from the garden and add to my pasta sauce for some flavor. Good quality. Would definitely suggest!!

They work!
All 3 of mine have sprouted and I only used 3 seeds in each pot…the Rosewood has grown as I discovered this morning while watering….there is 3 small sprouts under the top layer of soil! I didn’t use a heating mat but I did place all three of these under a grow light. The seeds and materials are great. Bonsai’s require a lot more attention than other easy grow plants. Follow the directions and if you put a few minutes in every morning and spray the soil with conditioned or distilled water they will grow. They’re not a set it and forget it type plant. The effort is up to you!Update: I transplanted my bonsai’s in a Bio Substrate and they are growing like crazy. I gave 3 away to my nephew and I still have six. 5/17/25

Cuteness makes it impractical
I don’t necessarily dislike this set - but it’s essentially turning into a purchase of four bags of seeds and a set of mini shears. You can probably throw the rest out.The cute little burlap like bags? Not practical. They tell you to plant a few seeds in each bag. My seeds seemed to work well. All of the Rosewoods germinated as well as the Blue Spruce. I see some Black Spruce coming up in their bag. No flame trees yet, but I’m giving them more time and then I’ll try again. But if you follow the directions you will end up with several little seedlings in each “pot”. They will start crowding each other out and roots tangling, so you want to deal with it before then. Depending on the resource you look at there are two paths. One of the Garden Republic pages says just grow one of them and chop off the smaller trees. I actually wanted multiple trees though, that’s why I bought this set. So I had to transplant them, and they weren’t old enough for that level of stress. I did that tonight. Hope they survive. The dirt that comes with it seems ok. It’s a dehydrated seed starter mix. Can’t really say if it’s any better or worse than the others. If I had to start this all over I would throw out everything but the seeds and the shears. Maybe keep the wooden box as it’s cute and handy. Then I would buy some seed starting soil and something like the Burpee Superseed 16XL. I’d fill the Burpee cells with a good seed starting mix, then plant four of each seed in rows. Then they wouldn’t have to be transplanted as soon and they would be a lot easier to get out of the Burpee than those silly bags.

Its a nice kit, we will see
My initial reaction was that the kit was really nice and they did their best to put it all together for you to begin. I could see the effort in qaulity from initial opening. It seems like a great qaulity starter kit for the price. It made me excited to use a cute and compact kit for little trees i usually would buy and ultimately kill from the store. So i suppose if i kill these i will give up forever on bonsai growing depsite how fascinated i am with the entire process haha. It will feel worth it in the end somehow simoly because of the kit being so nicely put together. It comes with everything you need until they grow larger and will need repotted. I might not have a green thumb either but i am proud of the project so far. I did feel like the instructional pamplet could have been worded and written better for easier understanding but maybe it was only me so im not going to take stars off for my potential idiocy. I registered my seeds with their website which was quite easy (its a nice feature to have with a product like this). Ultimately it sent me through an auto text on the messenger app. Which i will add is nice because it will answer other questions for you too. Im interested in using the box it came in for other things eventually so i love that it can be used and wasnt just a piece of packaging i had to toss in the trash. Im not sure if all my seeds will grow but i followed the directions as best i could if not exactly. I use a spray bottle every few days to get the soil damp again bc the sun can get overbearing in the window they sit. It is safe from my cat there though for now. I might be watering too much so we will see. I soaked my seeds May 15th and potted them May 16th. So far the blue spruce (lady blue) is the only tree that has sprouted and its been just shy of 3 weeks. We also named all the little trees to fulfil our quirky needs and help us commit to growth haha.First picture is day of potting, second/ third pictures are on May 27th. I didnt take pictures of the box and everything because it was all exactly as advertised on amazon
