Q: do the cars float when they are out of the boat?

They do float, but for a very short time. I'm more inclined to just say no. However, when my grandson is playing in the tub, the cars have stayed above water.

Q: Does it let water in the boat to create mold?

My boat definitely created mold which leaked out into the bath water. We had to throw it out.

Q: Will it float? Noticed one review said it didn't.

All of the green toys (I own all 4) float very well! We love them!

Q: Why is it called green ?

The plastic used is made from recycled soda bottles. "Green" as in recycled material. Hope that helps. -Itty Bitty City staff.
