We purchased this humungous tin of Royal Dansk biscuits as a Christmas gift for an elderly relative who enjoys a sweet treat but cannot eat regular 'hard' biscuits, and these beautifully light and not overly sweet Danish butter biscuits are perfect! First of all, we were appreciative that the product is the 'real deal' Royal Dansk brand - other brands are simply not as good and usually include around 50% chocolate chip cookies, which is very disappointing, but this tin contained only the genuine Royal Dansk product. The condition of the contents was extremely good. We had expected a number of biscuits to be damaged in transit, however the recipient reported on finishing the tin today, that only the very bottom layer had any breakages, and of those only a handful were broken, and the broken biscuits were not smashed and had merely broken in half! This gift was given on Christmas Eve and opened immediately, and the contents have remained fresh and crisp in the tin until finishing them today (5th May) right down to the very last crumb - not that there were any crumbs! Would thoroughly recommend this item, whatever the time of year. The huge quantity has lasted our single elderly recipient for more than four months of regular nibbling, and makes this tin a perfect gift for a family to enjoy, also ideal for parties or fund-raising events such as a coffee morning or afternoon tea. So go on, buy it, and enjoy!!

The product arrived in excellent condition, the quality of the packaging was out of this world. Care was taken to make sure my cookies, the tin arrived in superb condition. Always great to see these, full childhood memories and this tin was full of cookies not the disappointment of my Gran's sewing materials that always got me every January! Fast delivery but I echo other people's comments that the shipping box could have done with some packing because even with in big tin when its in a bigger box without packing it just gets shaken around too much. Also have to say I'm really disappointed that the tin was not the Christmas design that is advertised, its one of the contributing reasons I bought it.

For some reason this Festive Season we have been on a bit of a biscuit kick which led us to the usual discussion you have when you get old, you know the one - Do you remember? A big one for us was the tin of Danish Butter Cookies that mysteriously only appeared at Christmas. Honestly, neither of us could remember seeing them for sale at any other time of the year. Anyhoo, this set me on a mission to get a tin and believe when I say I tried every local large chain supermarket and grocery store close to our small UK town. Nothing, zip, nada. Even small independents didn't have them. Now I didn't really want a whole 4lbs (1.8Kg) of them. But, this is what I had to buy just to get the nostalgia hit. A nostalgia hit that is going to last me until the summer judging by the size of the tin. It is laughably huge but arrived with no dents or damage to it's classic blue and gold outer. The expiry date is May 2021 so plenty of time to munch our way through them and then the tin will make a great cake tin - it is too big for the classic sewing tin re-purposing. My real issue with these biscuits is this - am I the only person who thinks they taste kinda like Play-Doh smells? Even though that sounds weird I do enjoy scarfing these down with a brew, or sneaking a couple whilst putting up packed lunches or preparing dinner. The sneaked ones taste so much better it must be said.

These butter cookies are so delicious. I ordered it as a Diwali gift for my colleagues. Everyone enjoyed them immensely.

For 28 years I have told my husband about being a little girl where every Christmas I was looking forward to going to my Grandma's home in PA where she had these great bubble lights on her tree and this Danish can of Danish cookies, that I loved (No, she was not Danish but had great taste!.) My husband being of Scandinavian American ancestry, never had these great cookies? I have come across them in the past, but they were not the real thing from Denmark. He surprised me on my Birthday, with the REAL DANISH cookies, although they did arrive AFTER my birthday, they were just as I remembered them and a lot of cookies! LOL. Being a child, I used to dunk them also in hot chocolate, therefore, being an adult, I tried them with coffee. EVEN BETTER! They are also terrific for Tea Time (for herbal tea drinkers). The only thing negative I can say is they are addicting because they are delicious (as they may be butter cookies but they are light) and there are a lot of them! So I am offering samples to friends and neighbors. Otherwise, I could eat them all in about 4 weeks as they are that YUMMY! Not a SOFT cookie, a hard cookie with a lot of flavor and light (nut buttery tasting). Simply terrific.
