Quality Deterrent
Having recently purchased an expensive ebike I decided on a multi-level security approach. I have Datatag on another one of my bikes, but this sets differs as this one does not include a transponder, but does include UV etching fluid and microdots. The UV etching fluid is easy to apply using the stick on stencils provided. Apply the liquid fairly sparingly though. The microdots are suspended in some sort of glue so you can mark all your accessories and fittings like wheels, handlebars, brake levers etc. Don't forget to stick the Datag sticker onto the bike to deter thieves, then register the serial number with Datatag. The security can be transferred to someone else if you sell the bike.I would recommend that you buy a UV torch so that you can check your stencilling handy work. I bought one on here for under a tenner.I bought this from Amazon because it was 66% of the recommended price. Everyone else seemed to be selling it at RRP.If you want the kit with the transponder look at the mortorcycle kit, but it is more likely that a copper will have access to a UV torch than "transponder reader".Remember that this is just one level of security. It is well worth buying a decent lock, either lock and chain or U-lock, and locking your bike to something solid. There is plenty of security advice available on the web, especially on YouTube.

Fantastic product
I etched my frame in 3 places and my forks with the 4th. I would get at least one additional alcohol wipe in addition to the one provided. I followed the instructions and all 4 worked a treat - I had to buy a cheap low cost UC torch to prove they had worked - all perfect and cannot be seen on my frame without UV. With the micro dots I really went to town, I used the brush to get the dots out of the tube and applied each one with a bit of the glue provided with a cocktail stick - this made zero mess, it took a while but every single external component on the bike has at least one dot on it. It took a while but very satisfied - the UV torch shows where they are. The registration was simple too and I downloaded 2 photos of the bike. I was also able to add lots of detail about the bike. I am very happy with the datatag pro system - worth getting the pro for the dots.

Easy to use
Product packaging is easy to open, clear instructions and easy to use. The only reason I’ve given it 4 stars is the microdot liquid is quite visible when applied and the microdots can stick around the top of the bottle and you have to make sure they are in suspension when applying. In the products defence it does state that the liquid may be visible after application. The etching is very good, easy to apply, easy to use and not too visible at all afterwards. Under ultraviolet it stands out well.Website is not the easiest to use, make sure you have all the information to hand before setting up your account, I haven’t worked out how to add stuff to it once created and registered.Hopefully if the bike ever gets stolen I’ve got a better than average chance of it being recovered.Note, this does not mean you shouldn’t always secure your bike with a good quality lock!!

Stencils and micro dots in a single kit.
My bike feels safer now.The kit looks a bit daunting to apply, so,watch the on line videos. The stencils and applicator are easy to use.The registration on line is fairly straightforward, and necessary as part of the security system, as the micro dots in the liquid applicator and stencil coding is registered in case of theft of the bike and its components. You can use the microdots (the vial contains hundreds of them) on other valuables like phone, camera, children.

Good for the price
I like it as it's UZ, but would have been nice if you were give a UZ torch in the pack just like muc off do with their run flat kit. It would have also been nice to have an RFI chip like you get in the motorbike kit, also had difficulty with the web site but worked third time round. However, its good for the price but immobitag is better as I have used both.

Great deterrent for bike security.
This is a fantastic product. Although it won't stop it being stolen it will help hopefully in getting it recovered. How they engineer this to be so small but effective is mind blowing. Looks complicated but read the instructions first and it becomes apparent how straight forward it is to apply.

No deterrent to theft.
Datatag produce no verifiable evidence the system deters theft or that the police pay any attention to the Datatag register. Datatag's register is out of date because Datatag refuse to de-register vehicles sold to a new owner or owned by people wh no longer wish for registration.

It's good but buy more alcohol wipes first.
Applied easily enough. The UV etching - if you want it to be invisible then fully follow instructions with alcohol wipes. However only one is supplied and this quickly dried up. Therefore I would recommend you get more alcohol wipes before you embark. I only had antibacterial wipes to hand so used these for the second and third stickers - but they haven't gone invisible same as the one with alcohol wipes did.The anti theft sticker went on easily enough. However I was disappointed with the micro dots. They're suspended in glue and you paste them onto your target. The glue dries clear but certainly not invisibly - the end result is what you would imagine if you applied super glue to your frame. It's all about security though and I feel my bike is now significantly less appealing to thieves which was the overall idea so I'm happy hence 4 stars.Hopefully I'll never find out how useful it is to aid recovery!
