saving money, glossy hair and no plastic
Apart from the fact that the shampoo doesnt come in plastic which is a huge bonus, it only uses a little product to create lather and leaves the scalp feeling great and my hair looked and felt nice and silky. At first I felt the price might be a bit high, but seeing how little of the bar i use each time, its actually really good value. Oh and did i mention the no plastic ;). Now given one to mates and they are equally impresssed.

A really good shampoo bar
This is the first time I have used a shampoo bar and I was drawn to this as I have always loved beer shampoos for my hair. The shampoo leaves your hair squeaky clean with no residue which, for me, means I need to use a fair amount of conditioner as I have dry hair. The lather is excellent and the bar lasts for ages despite me using it twice a week on long hair. the fragrance is unusual but not horrible and very 'clean'.

Leaves a horrible wax build up on your hair!
So disappointed in this product. Was recommended it for hair loss by a friend. I’ve just used it. I used it sparingly, yet when I brushed my hair and started to try and dry it, it was so sticky and waxy it wouldn’t dry on my roots. I had to go back in the shower , scrub my hair with my own shampoo to try and get rid of the waxy build up it had caused in order to then dry my hair. £15 down the drain! Only positive is it smells nice.

I like the results that this gives me
I like the results that this gives me, but feel so iffy when actually using it! It's handy to only have to take a bar around with you to wash your hair, but it feels so weird scrubbing your hair with it and it leaves an odd squeaky residue on your hair. I leave the shower feeling like there's a weird layer on my hair but after spraying with leave-in conditioner and blowdrying, my hair comes out shiny, strong and with fabulous body. The results are so worth it!

Didn’t suit my hair type
I love the ethos of this company and shampoo bars in general so I really wanted to like this bar, but unfortunately it just didn’t work well on my hair. I have fine blonde hair which can be quite flat and gets oily quickly, so based on the description I thought this bar might be a good fit. However it leaves my hair feeling and looking quite greasy, especially if I don’t blow dry it. Judging by other good reviews, it must be down to my hair type. It’s slightly on the pricy side but is a very large bar (probably about double that of my usual Lush bar) and so will last forever!

Beer soap
Very pleased, with it. It came the next day. Very quick service.

Didn't clean my hair biut worked OK as soap
This didn't work for me, possibly because I have fine hair or possibly because I live in a hard water area. It left my hair feeling really waxy and unmanageable. It smells nice though and worked well as a soap instead! I won't be buying another.

This product is very good, very refreshing and natural. I have been going all natural on my hair and cutting out chemicals and the normal shampoo and conditioner we have in stores. I have thick frizzy hair and an oily scalp with dandruff so I wash my hair twice a week and I’ve been using the Tasmanian beer and honey shampoo and it’s great! It lathers very nicely and it’s just as soapy and bubbly as the other shampoos I’ve used when it comes to the lather and the bar last a long time. I recommend that when you use it after washing it out make sure you wash it out good, I always use cold water at the end of my shower and it helps close the hair follicles as well. Also the conditioner bar is also great but only do the ends with it not the scalp and once your hair drys it’s great and your head will feel so fresh and so clean. you do not need the vinegar rinse if you wash and rinse out your hair good and not use the conditioner bar on your scalp. My hair is so free and shiny. also if you suffer from dandruff you can always boil rosemary and clove in water and after you wash and get out of the shower brush your hair just use the rosemary and clove spray on your scalp and spray your roots real good and your scalp will be great, I know longer have dandruff this soap will not be the cause of it unless you have a build up and already suffer with it but with this shampoo bar and my spray my scalp and hair have never been better!!!

Oh my lanta I am loving this stuff! A little backstory first: I grew up living in homes where the source of water was from a well, fluoride free, decently clean water. 7 months ago my family and I moved from Minnesota to Texas, and to city living (not a fan!). Now our water is full of chlorine and other chemicals. For the first time in my life (almost 30 years) I had dandruff. We got a shower head filter for the water and that helped some. But then I decided to take the leap on shampoo bars because I had finally read and researched the ingredients in my shampoo and conditioner. I wanted something that wasn't filled with ingredient after ingredient after ingredient. I searched and read reviews and this one caught my attention. My husband and I brew mead (honey wine) and have done lots of research on the benefits of honey and everything that goes with it. Reading the ingredients of this and seeing that it uses honey and the beeswax basically had me sold, then there was the hops and beer. Got me. Now about the product itself. First off, it smells amazing and not overpowering in my opinion. Great size bar, especially when you realize as you are washing that you really do not need a lot from the bar. As of right now, I have used it 3 times. The moment it was on my hair, my hair felt smooth. I held the bar and stroked from root to end until I felt that all my hair had some on, then lathered. And boy did it lather! It rinses out well, however because of other reviews I saw of build up I use pretty hot water to rinse. I don't feel any leftover residue in my hair, and my hair is mostly soft but it does feel a little dry. I did some research on their website before even using the product, and they recommend an apple cider vinegar (acv) rinse after your shampoo. I haven't tried it yet, but I will and will probably update with that result. In their how to video on their website they make sure to point out that if you have been using regular shampoo and conditioner, it will take time for your hair to adjust to not using those. Because of the research I did, and the reviews I looked at, I cannot bring myself to give them anything less than 5 stars for this product. If you don't look things up then you might think this is a bad product and doesn't do what it should, but it does and it just takes time and sometimes another product in combination (like the acv rinse). I had thought about ordering straight from their website, but I'm in the US and they are out of the country so their shipping is high unless you buy a certain amount from them. Which I understand, because who wants to send something internationally that will make you lose money because of shipping costs? Overall, they are a great company putting out amazing products and I will definitely buy from them again!

I switched to shampoo bars about 6 months ago and have struggled to find one that works well with my very hard water. This is the best bar I've tried so far and I plan to continue using it. It smells great - the whole family (guys and gals) like the scent. It lathers nicely and rinses clean with very little residue. I went with 4 instead of 5 stars because it does leave a little residue; however, adding an apple cider vinegar rinse once a week seems to get rid of any build up. My scalp feels healthy and my hair is clean and manageable. The bar is also good sized and lasts a long time - we cut it in half and split it between our two bathrooms and it lasts over 2 months with multiple people using it. I would recommend trying this shampoo bar!

I received this shampoo around 1 week ago and I've used it twice now, my partner has used it around 5 times. It lathers really well and a little goes a really long way, so very impressed there! However, I have very long, thick and permed hair and I don't think it works very well for me. The product leaves a waxy/soap scum feeling residue on my hair and no matter how frequently I comb my hair it gets very tangled and sticks together, the ends are super dry and rough. I do use conditioner with it (it's a different brand though as I already had that). I think this problem may be due to saponified oils as the feeling I have in my hair is very similar to when I use a traditional soap cake for washing my hands. My boyfriend on the other hand has short hair and it works really well for him. It drastically reduced the dryness of his scalp after the first wash. I can still feel the waxy feeling in his hair, but it's not an issue because it's so short. It's also helped his hair be really curly, which he loves. So I think this shampoo bar is great for shorter hair and finer hair, but not so great for thick, long hair. I shall try a different type and see how that goes :)

So, I've been looking for a long time for a shampoo alternative, and I'm all about making stuff myself. But, for all the no-poo, faux-poo, all-natural shampoos I've tried, there has just been no substitute for what commercial shampoo does. So, I started reading about shampoo bars and thought maybe that's something I want to try - but it wasn't really practical for me to make a whole batch of cold processed soap/shampoo when I don't even know if I'll like it. So, I started researching brands and landed here. I was nervous about "the adjustment period." You know, like how you have greasy, sticky hair when you try to wash it with coconut oil, but everyone swears that one day, your scalp with adjust? Well, I got this on Saturday and it's Monday - and unless I'm in for a terrible surprise in the next few days, I'm adjusting pretty well. Here's what I've experienced in the three times I've used it so far: -- it lathers like shampoo. It's not like rubbing coconut oil in your hair, or some of these natural liquid shampoos where they say, "Don't worry about lather - it's getting your hair clean." I DO worry about lather. It's what makes my hair feel clean and not gross. So I love that it lathers. -- Right after your wash, it DOES make your hair feel squeaky clean (like you'd imagine if you washed it with Dawn dish soap or something), very course, kind of tangly like you're going to have a big mess to brush out later. BUT, I took the advice of many online resources and I brought a bottle in the shower with me that had about a TBSP of apple cider vinegar and was filled the rest of the way with water. I poured it over my head after rinsing, and voila! My hair was soft. I don't know, it's magic. But I truly didn't need conditioner after the vinegar rinse. My brush slid right through my hair when I got out. -- My hair is clean. It doesn't have a buildup, no residue, no greasy/sticky feeling. It's super soft. It dried really fast. It feels lighter already, after just three days, because it's not weighed down with conditioner and shampoo residue. I love this shampoo bar! So, now I get to have clean, soft hair AND be using something natural without phosphates and all the bad stuff that's in shampoo. I've tried it all, and shampoo bars and are my favorite thing. I know they have various products for various hair types, so for reference, I have long, brown, wavy-but-very-soft hair. This formula worked well for me.
