Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Weekender Avion Field Watch

So far seems well built and like it will take a beating. I like the offset crown and fact its solar powered. The 10bar/10atm/100m water resistance is a big plus and it looks fantastic. Wish the bezel compass wasn't just for looks, but it still is a nice and functional watch. Oddly there was no plastic peel offs on the crystal or underside when i opened my watch. I don't like metal bands that require links added/removed to adjust as this one did, so i put on a parachute elastic nylon band. The luminescent hands and markings are excellent as well. Been using it alot after being outside in daylight then it going dark, and the luminosity provided is very vibrant, lasting and noticeable. Provided an extra picture after only a shirt time outside that captures the luminosity output well in lower light. Its a very vibrant blue luminescent. This watch is proving to be a good buy for $189+ tax

Some delay in delivery.. will blame the dmv snowstorm.. otherwise.. my return to regular watches .. fit is good, quality is great for its price point, i love the look, the band, simple but elegant design.. lets see how the time retention holds.. lets see how the field watch holds up

Another winner from Citizen. Very comfortable with the stock strap, it was not too stiff, just right. Easy to read and lume looks good. Good size, not too big or small. High quality. Good for casual type work wear and weekends out and about.

Some question about a second "black" strap being supplied. No second strap. I have about 70 watches. This is my 8th and by far lowest priced Citizen. Wanted an eco field style watch. Noted some complaints by others. Thought I would try to answer. Watch arrived with crown pulled out to keep it from running and hold a partial charge. Pushed the crown in after setting the watch. Wanted to insure a good charge so put it on a light box for 12 to 14 hours. Light box available from Amazon or Walmart and I think anyone with an eco watch should have one. Eco watches do have a battery. It lasts for 10 years to a lifetime. Light charges the battery. The battery powers the watch. Leave the watch in any light and it will charge. Does best in direct sun light. Next best on a light box. Sloooow charge under a lamp or fluorescent. Read the instructions. Like the watch. Strap is comfortable and fits my slim wrist. Body is a little tall thanks to eco. Like the fleger style 12 o'clock marker. Face a little too dark for me but what I expected. A fair buy at $185.

Got this watch for my adult son, and he loves it. It’s nice large size, nice quality and not too heavy. It was easy for him to set the time and date. Price is great for such a nice watch.

I own a half dozen Citizen Eco-Drive watches, with the oldest dating back over a decade, and they have performed flawlessly from day one. I love not needing to change or charge the batteries. So, when this Weekender Avion Field Watch went on sale here at Amazon, I clicked add to cart. The Weekender Avion Field Watch is the least expensive Citizen watch I own. Oddly, it is the best looking and the easiest to read at a glance. The jumbo hour numbers are styled like old-school analog dials in my father’s old tail-dragger Piper Tripacer. Like vintage airplane instrument gauges, this Weekender Avion Field Watch has lume to glow under dim conditions. Indeed, it glows but is dim compared to my Brycen Sport and Promaster dive watches. I suppose Citizen needed to cut some corners at this price point. I found the watch and khaki nylon strap combo extremely handsome, a perfect dressy-casual look with jeans or chinos and a resort shirt. The strap is also surprisingly comfortable and felt broken-in almost immediately—much faster break-in than leather, cotton canvas, or sailcloth straps. The only minor gotcha is the crystal is a bit too glossy: wish it had anti-reflective treatments like the more expensive Citizens. Pleased with this watch and glad I bought it.

I have been looking at this watch for about a year ! I pulled the trigger and wow !! What a great watch it is just stunning the face is perfect!! I love the accuracy and the feel , it is just a good feeling watch , I have other Citizen watches and the quality is amazing. This is an absolute timepiece that I am proud to own !!

Got this for our son who is in the Air Force. He absolutely loves it. Picked up a black band for him so he can wear it in his blues. I’ve had a different Eco-Drive watch since 2004 and it still runs like a champ. I scratched the crystal playing football, and a jeweler replaced it in a couple days. You can’t go wrong with these Citizen watches.

Was reluctant buying this due to some bad review in the region. But decided to buy it anyway. Upon unboxing, second hand move every 2 seconds. The reason is it indicates low battery. After placing it under the sun around 30min second starting to move every second indicates the battery capacity is at stable state to use. The other negative review about this watch is its luminosity when it is in dark place. I found it valid and not. Valid because it has a level of darkness. Let me explain. When there’s no light but there’s an ambient light from window or somewhere else that affects where you are, then telling time is very hard. Now if you are in total darkness, you can tell the time right away. Meaning the luminosity is well enough to show time. And it lasted until you need it, say when you wake up at 5am. The orher negative review which this time agree but mot really much of the concern is the compass on the crown can’t rotate. This is useful when checking South direction which is why it was there. Overall, the price of the watch justified its quality.
