Psoriasis doesn't stand a chance!
I ordered this sulfur ointment because I suffer from psoriasis (face and head) and don't want to revert to taking daily pills with god-only-know-what side effects. The following are the positives and negatives as I see them:Pros:1) Easily applicable - the ointment is very viscous and can easily be spread on the affected area.2) Non-burning - other ointments I've tried in the past tended to burn. Not this one!3) Affordable - I am often skeptical when it comes to cheap cosmetic/health products, but I am very happy with the results from this ointment.4) IT WORKS! - This is probably the most important point. After 1 week of applying the ointment to my affected areas once per day, there is a drastic difference in the redness and scaliness of the areas. I can definitely say that it is working for me!Cons:1) Oily - the ointment seems a bit oily, and won't come out of fabric very easily. That being said, if you use it cautiously and wash hands afterwards, this won't be a problem.

Didn't work for cystic acne
The consistency is very nice, almost like a nice silicon primer and the small size makes it convenient for travel if you wish to travel with it..However, I bought this mask as a last solution to prevent/minimise cystic acne flare-ups that happen before my menstruation and it did not work. The smell is not repulsive but the plastic-y smell lingered for a loooong while.

I bought this after reading the reviews and suffering from acne for 10+ years. This made me break out more unfortunately. I used it for 1 month and eventually gave in and stopped.

I have used 10% sulfur cream before for acne and small spots and it works wonders! Only put a tiny bit onto the spot for a few days and it either disappears or dries out completely.

This cleared up my acne in 2 weeks of use and it's great because you don't have to use much
So I gotta say I was doubtful when I first got this. It wasn't only until months later when my adult acne got itchy and unbearable I used this .... And WOW. I am very extremely unequivocally impressed. This cleared up my acne in 2 weeks of use and it's great because you don't have to use much. A little about me is that I have combination skin that is hyper sensitive. I have an oily T-zone and cheeks but I'm prone to having dry skin that flakes and peels especially during cold seasons like winter/Christmas time (I have no idea why). Originally I never had acne before, for most of my years till I was 19 I had normal skin that literally had no acne scarring and I never got ingrown hairs no matter how much plucking was done. Likewise, if you look at my parents their skin is pretty much flawless so I assumed by genetics I would always have good skin. But around this time I got a job and I don't know what happened but suddenly these itchy bumps started appearing along my jawline and cheeks and occasionally my forehead along with many blackheads. It was a gradual process but within a year on the job my face was filled of acne scars and itchy bumpy cysts and pimples and by 21 years i would cry sometimes at just the thought of having to leave the house so I always opted for the night shift at my workplace. I mean in my mind, all skin problems were supposed to have happened during puberty so by the time you are an adult then you've gotten away scott free. I was wrong. I was wrong wrong wrong. Through done research i realised I didn't have a rash but female adult acne (which left me severely pissed). So I tried everything from acne creams, ACV, betonite clay.... (I didn't get Proactive because it's expensive) basically I've tried everything (I could afford) from synthetic to purely vegan products. However when I found this I just bought it on impulse because a blogger swore by sulphur as an acne/skin problem cure-all. SHE WAS SO RIGHT. I'm two weeks of use: My bumps? Barely there (a few more weeks should do the trick). My blackheads? I barely see any now. Pimples? I've only gotten 2 since I started using this. The itchiness? G.O.N.E. Hallelujah! I could just marry this product. Next paycheck I need to order another one or two just to have there to last me for decades because a little goes a loooooonnnggggg way. Trust me when I say I owe my skin to this product. Some cons people may argue is the smell. It's sulphur. It's supposed to smell like that. So it hasn't even bothered me. Plus I'm from the Caribbean (one of the islands that has an abundance of sulphur and hot springs) so I guess it's part of our lifestyles to use sulphur based products so no one really minds the scent tbh. Another con may be the dryness but my skin hasn't flaked since I used it (but a good moisturiser is a life saver). All in all I would give this a 10/5. Great product. Strictly vegan. Inexpensive. Hands down this is my best Amazon purchase thus far. Thank you!!!

Sulfur works for my acne. I like this brand better than a similar one.
My skin has been responding well to this product!I was using another sulfur ointment (de la Cruz brand) for 5 years because my acne responds well to sulfur, but it doesn't respond to traditional acne meds, like bp, salicylic acid and retin a, just to name a few. While the, de la Cruz brand works for me, there were always a few drawbacks in the back of my mind. First, de la Cruz sulfur ointment is, 90% PEG and I'd rather not have my body absorb that. Second, de la Cruz ointment is very, very, very ointment-y. It always feels so gross when I have it on. It feels like melted butter and I usually leave it on all night, instead of washing it off, so that is a huge downfall for me. Lastly, I've read that some of the newer reviews say there's a fragrance on the de la Cruz ingredients list. That's something I didn't see on my bottle's label, but my bottle is old, so I'm not exactly sure if there is an added fragrance, but if there is, I don't want to buy it to use on my acne prone skin. Finding out de la Cruz could have fragrance, led me to find this, plant based, no fragrance ointment, called San Marcos 10% sulfur ointment. The first thing that I noticed about this San Marcos 10% sulfur ointment was that it is more of a soft solid, rather than a gooey ointment! When I put it on my face, it was like spreading raw Shea butter on my face. I'm not complaining because it was way better than putting de la Cruz melted butter on my face! It sits on my skin like a faint white sunscreen film and it's very matte looking, which is a pleasant surprise (especially since I read older reviews stating otherwise). There is a little sulfur smell, but that dissipates after a few minutes and to me, it means there's plenty of sulfur in the product. The ingredients on my container are different than what's listed on Amazon, but from what I saw in an online research, everything should be fine for acne prone skin:sulfur colloidale, glycerol, ionic stearate salt, olibanumSorry for the "book", I just want to help others as best as I can!Update: about a month after using this, I stopped using dove soap and added the 10% sulfur soap (also made by braunfels) to my routine and the combo is amazing! I still break out, but the breakouts aren't usually cystic anymore and the pimples come to a head faster. One container of this cream lasts about 2 months and I use a generous amount.Neither of the products help my oily skin.

yes but goodness it's a mess- like thick whipped butter
i have tried everything under the sun for my acne. mind you i was on accutane before this so my acne is much better than it once was. but that is neither here nor there. i get pretty bad scarring from the acne i do get (hormonally) and have started to notice more prominent blackheads on my nose and cheeks. i ordered this because of the great reviews it got on CVS's website, and i'm happy i ordered it. it works wonders at reducing inflammation, and genuinely helps with the healing process of cystic acne and white heads, plus pulls blackheads to the surface (making them looser for a nose strip). my only concern is the mess it makes. the product itself is like that of thick whipped butter, so when you rub it on it is quite sticky and greasy feeling. i don't mind the smell, but warning- it does burn a bit @ first. AND you might purge (break out initially because it is clearing out your skin- keep going it'll be ok). i enjoy using sulfer as a spot treatment at night but in this case it's impossible on its own. when you mix sulfer with the fluid in your eyes it creates sulfuric acid, so any amount that could get in your eyes hurts like the dickens. my suggestion would be mixing this with a sulfer mask & wearing it to bed as a spot treatment. otherwise i put it on for a few hours (10min doesn't do much) and clean house. best of luck if you struggle with acne!

I don't feel like it has really helped clear up any acne for ...
eh. It's okay. I don't feel like it has really helped clear up any acne for the most part, although it has helped a little with my skin condition HS in some spots (if i catch it reallllly early) and not so much in others. Honestly it is really thick, and I almost feel like when used on the face, it clogs pores. However this may be my own fault because I tend to leave it on overnight when the directions clearly say to leave it on for 20 mins (use as a mask) then wash it off. I will try using it like that, and if I see better results, I will update my rating. I don't dislike it right now, it's just not as effective as I had hoped so far. But again, it may be the way I am using it. Fair enough.

Don't be afraid of the texture; it works!
I was quite skeptical of this cream based on the texture, but as many others state-- it works! I've struggled with acne my entire life. I've completed an accurate regimen, which improved my situation immensely, but still require a topical acne cream for prevention. I ran out of my prescription benzoyl peroxide cream, and needed something to hold me over. I was curious about sulfur based acne to as I noticed keihl's has a sulfur product out for adult acne , but did not want to spend 35 bucks on a tiny tube. I figured I couldn't lose with this product since it is so cheap. I was very hesitant of the texture, which seems kind off oddly greasy, however it is super effective ! I've noticed improvements in some of the small bumps on my face that would remain with benzoyl peroxide. Best part, I find I don't have to wear this every single night. Totally worth a shot!!
