iGadgitz Xtra U4457 Wind Up, Solar & USB Rechargeable Portable AM/FM Radio - Black

This is a perfect little radio. I had it on for 7 hours yesterday at my kitchen window, didn’t have to charge it since it’s solar powered. Still got power today. You can even wind it up to charge so you’re not using any electricity. Sound is good, can go really loud and is clear. I don’t get a lot of stations in my small Scottish town but radio 1 plays well. Will be using this in my garden all summer long. Amazing for the price, highly recommend

This is such a cute little radio. I bought it for Hubby for his birthday to use out in his greenhouse and new shed. He was really pleased with it and, like me, didn’t even know you could get solar powered radios!! It keeps its charge well just with the solar panel but you also have the backup of the windup which he hasn’t needed to use so far. OK the sound isn’t the best ever but then again he only wanted it for outside and it’s fine for the job. If sound is important to you then perhaps this isn’t the one for you and you need to find a bigger budget. Over all we were really surprised and pleased with this sweet little radio.

Great little radio for emergencies and camping/ gardening. Very compact design, haven't had the chance to test it much, but it tunes I to my favourite station straight away. A bit tinny sounding, but to be expected considering size and price. Doesn't bother me at all. Currently testing the solar charge, so can't comment on that. But looks like a great little purchase. Does the job

This is a compact and easy to use radio. The radio tunes using the control on the right hand side of the radio. The tuner is sensitive so you need to take a little time to get it right, but otherwise it is very straightforward. The on off button also doubles up as the volume control. Reception is good, especially when the aerial is extended. The sound quality is reasonable. The speaker lacks a depth of sound and sounds flat to me, lacking both at the top end and bottom end of the range. However, it depends what you are listening to. Music as I said is a bit flat, but for speech the sound quality is more than adequate. I have just listened to the football commentary and had no concerns at all about the sound quality. Oddly the sound quality is better using the headphones jack, which suggests the speaker is the issue rather than the radio itself. The charging system works well. I spent a little time winding the radio and this produced enough charge to listen a full football match. Alternatively, you can charge via the solar panel or the USB port. The USB port is likely to be the quickest, but the solar and wind up are more suited to camping and other outdoor pursuits. In terms of value the unit seems excellent value to me. Under fifteen pounds for a radio that features a rechargeable battery, a solar panel and a wind up mechanism seems fair to me. This is why I have rated it five stars despite not having the best speaker. Please note I was provided with a complimentary product in order to write this review.

I used this radio for a few months - build quality for the low price point was still good however after a while, the connection to turn from AM to FM broke. This meant that I could no longer use FM radio which was not ideal, as the AM range is quite low in this radio. I could only listen to sport. The charging circuit inside is pretty good, and all other aspects are good minus this one point. Be gentle with it.

First can i say i have returned this super little radio for one reason only, i cant hear it ! as i wear two hearing aids. I got this to listen to when i am in the garden or greenhouse, but unfortunately the volume does not get loud enough for me. So onto the radio just the right size for slipping into your pocket when wandering about the garden, feels really well made, easy to tune in. Started to charge with the solar as soon as i took it out the box although we don't have much sun here at the moment, just a good bright day would live quite happily on any bright window sill, Windup crank is of good quality made in one-piece so not easy to break. This would seem to be a well made FM/AM radio. Sound lets it down a bit but you get what you pay for but then again the sound would be good enough for most people but not if you have hearing problems. On family comments, they would recommend this product.

Got the radio in today, turned it on no sound no stations , an absolute joke, very disappointed in this product, a total ripoff , on the process of returning it .🎨🖌️

Seemed an ok radio for the time I had it, accidently spun the power wheel the wrong way and it bent the cogs inside, never really worked the same after that

I can't believe I can't find anything like this in store. It's great for camping or power outages . The sound when it goes loud is a little distorted with static but heck it works great. It's hand held and is no bigger then my android phone ! Update ** 2021 I am still using the same device from when i purchased in 2018. it works the same as the day i ordered it and holds a charge and charges via solar. pros: compact, easy to carry around good for camping, home, office, power failure, emergencys, beach great reception of channels great battery life easy to charge ( wall, crank, solar) con: solar charge takes forever but if its fully charged and your using it outside then itll last twice as long

De momento funciona muy bien. Práctica por su tamaño y también por las múltiples posibilidades de carga: Ideal para cuando no hay enchufes a mano. Sintoniza claramente y tiene mucha potencia de sonido.

Petit et léger, mais très efficace. La petite antenne capte bien et il suffit de la tenir entre le pouce et l'index, pendant l'écoute, pour amplifier au maximum le son ce qui économise la durée de charge de la batterie. La prise jack pour écouteurs est un plus et essentielle à mon avis, très rare sur ce type de produit concurrents.
