Osem Onion Soup and Seasoning Mix 400g

I bought this soup mix to add to my apricot chicken recipe. It mixes well and tastes good with the rest of my ingredients. Worth the purchase.

French onion soup used to be readily available in supermarkets but that is no longer the case.This is an excellent soup/seasoning even if a bit expensive.

Used for a variety of recipes, for example, in casseroles.

I usually use lipton onion soup mix with sour cream to make a dip but found it difficult and expensive to source it. This is far cheaper than the lipton one and just as good for dips!

I received this a while ago and I’ve only just used it. I Fried 2 medium size onions up & a bit of butter and slowly sweated them off, and used 600ml of water to 6 heaped tablespoons of the mix and whisked & then added the the onions and then bought to a boil and then turned down to a simmer ( 20 mins ) & poured over Mash potatoes and sausages and it was absolutely delicious. So it’s not just good enough as a soup, it’s delicious as a gravy and I cannot fault this. I would definitely buy again. I highly recommend.

Yes you can make soup with it but so much more - use in stews, casseroles, as a sauce for chicken or pork or steak… great as a seasoning too

Nice taste but it is very thick unlike the chicken broth, decent but not what I was really looking for.

Soup mix on its own not so much but as an additional mix in other soups yes, ie: add to one cup chicken with 1/2 teaspoon. Lots of other use too.
