Prestige Pressure Safety Plug
I bought a new Prestige High Dome Pressure Cooke which was ok for about a year and then started losing steam around the handle. I had to wrap a teatowel around it's handle with rubber bands to hold the towel in place. This should not happen.I went on Ebay and bought a used Pressure Cooker which works like it was new. With this cooker came a card with one pressure safety plug on it.The seller had obviously used one plug in the lid and sent the card with the spare with the cooker. The part number is CN96335 which is what was listed in the book for my old pressure cooker bought in the 1970's.I was trying to get part number CN96335 everywhere but no luck. One website though informed me that part number 96410 was the replacement for CN96335.The CN96335 is flat inside the pressure cooker lid and on top. You fit this 96410 replacement with the flat side inside the lid and the domed part on the top so it will stick up a bit. The word TOP is on the domed part of the plug. These plugs arrived on a Prestige card with a bubble pack on it.As the modern pressure cookers seem to be leaking steam after a while - see reviews for them on here - I am going to watch out for another High Dome of 1980 circa vintage.Having two is useful as I can cook my meat etc in one and leave it's pressure to come down slowly while I cook the veg etc in the other. Also if I am cooking two vegetables that need different cooking times I have the two cookers.

Brilliant
Ordered Wednesday evening and the pack of two arrived on the Friday morning. Cant get better than that. My cooker is 30 years old and the rubber on the old valve had gone hard allowing the pintle to fall out rendering the cooker useless. These are Prestige spares and fitted perfectly and will enable the cooker to go on and on. The tip about making sure you put it in the right way up is important because the instinctive way up is the wrong way up! So make sure you find the embossed label saying "up" and put that side up. If you have difficulty getting the replacement in use a little washing up liquid as a lubricant to ease it in but make sure you wash the lid thoroughly afterwards!

Pressure Cooker Indicator
This is the genuine article, good delivery(3 days),good price, easy to fit - just smeared a little cooking oil on it then pressed it into place(from the inside of the lid). Works just like it's supposed to - no problem. This is the first time it's been replaced - after 23 years. (Prestige recommend regular replacement every 6 months or so - dependent on usage.)Would recommend to anyone who needs a replacement indicator.

Rather a loose fitting on my old High Dome!
My 30 years old Prestige High Dome pressure cooker is one item I have used regularly over the years. However, the metal part of the Pressure Plug broke and I needed replacement Part No. 96335 which is no longer available but seems to have been replaced with this one - Part No. 96410!The old rubber plug had welded itself quite firmly onto the lid and could not be prised off. It had to be soaked off in very hot water. The new plug seems a looser fit in the hole in comparison, but hopefully it will be fine under pressure......I hope!Since writing the above, I have made lentil soup in my pressure cooker, and the new plug took longer than usual to come to pressure, resulting in much steam loss and only half the amount of soup left in the pan (although the soup was delicious!) Perhaps given time the plug will weld itself firmly onto the lid and work like the old one did!

Be careful
Having read the reviews on this product I was under the impression that although the design had changed over the years, all the versions were interchangeable. After an hour struggling to make the part (and it very nearly does) I finally gave up and further investigated to find that it was the wrong part.I'm posting this review as a warning, make sure that you get the right part and then you won't suffer for an hour like I did (what a plonker)

pressure cooker valve
I wasn't sure this was the right replacement as it didn't look like the old one. It works differently as it pops up when the right pressure is reached and goes back down when it's safe to open the lid - obviously an update on my old Prestige model. It works great and I'm able to use my pressure cooker again :-)

Defective Prestige safety valves which don't work, sold and supplied by Amazon itself.
This item was Dispatched from and sold by Amazon. Both Ready to Serve Safety valves are defective, releasing so much steam in the raised position where they are supposed to be sealed, that they prevent the pressure cooker from reaching anywhere near cooking pressure. These were dispatched from and sold by Amazon, and were in a cardboard blister pack, so are most likely genuine. I am particularly annoyed because I purchased directly from Amazon itself, paying the extra price to avoid substandard counterfeits. The reason these don't seal is due to the ridge of the casting flash which the manufacturer has left on the metal pintle which will create a small gap between the shoulder of the pintle and the rubber seal grommet that it is supposed to seal against. I tried a pintle from an old safety in the new rubber bit and it sealed. It would appear that either the manufacturer is using worn out moulds which have allowed excess metal to flow between the join in the two halves of the mould, and/or are not finishing the part.If you buy these have a fine needle file handy and test them for a seal before using to cook dinner.I've included two photos, one showing the casting defect, and the other leaking steam.
