It's OhSo Nearly Perfect.....
The G4 Gimbal is a fantastic bit of technology and when it works it's a dream to work with.I've shot countless hours of footage using the G4, mostly whilst skiing down red and black runs and honestly you struggle to see any shake on the camera at all. When the G4 is working, it's the ideal tool to ensure your footage looks stable and most importantly professional. However there are some shortcomings with the stabiliser as there is with many things over time. Firstly and most pressing is the screws that hold the gimbal secure and in place, one started coming loose, which after hours and hours of skiing I find understandable. However once they came loose once, the problems began until ultimately the gimbal stopped working at all for me. Which was a huge inconvenience since I was shooting film on holiday at the time.Secondly, updating the firmware takes far too much time for your average user to bother ever attempting. Which is a pain considering it's important to do, if you want your G4 working flawlessly. All in all, it's a fantastic gimbal however it lacks the durability which you'd require from an expensive item such as this.I hope in further updated models in the future, they correct some of these issues. Then it'll reach the 5 Stars the product deserves.

Better for small action cameras
I bought a similar gimbal a couple of months ago. This was built for cell phone size cameras but came with an adapter plate for an action camera. The unit would not work well with such a small load and I was forced to send it back. Amazon made me a price offer that I couldn't refuse this week so I put this item on my credit card. As a dedicated Go Pro type gimbal it works far better and does the job however there is a glaring omission. To be able to manually pan or tilt the camera is impossible unless you buy the remote control - which is £20 extra! This seem to me really cheap of the makers. To do the job cheaper you can buy a wired (as opposed to a wireless) remote for £12 - better but not good. This is why I have dropped it to 4 stars.By the way everyone screams that you must upgrade the firmware before use. This is a multi stage tiresome process but check the installed version first - mine has the latest firmware - which allows manual adjustment - already installed!

Amazing piece of equipment
If you have problems with your gimbal please see the link below.I purchased this last week from amazon seller `Beauty House UK`.I can’t fault the item, i am a geek for all things electrical and this piece of tech just blows me away with the quality, the unit is made from machined aluminium so very high quality and works with no problems at all.Reading countless reviews of this gimbal and hearing so many horror stories of people having problems with this model, i was initially put off of it, however after owning the gimbal for a week i am over the moon with it, i`m still not sure whether there is bad copies of this gimbal out there or whether it is people not operating the device properly or finding the firmware update so hard to do, i carried out the firmware update with no problems but i did watch a youtube video which helps to explain it all properly, i will put the link below the review. There are some things that people are doing wrong though you have to follow this:Do NOT turn the gimbal on without a gopro in the cradle, it WILL go haywire, this is because the unit is calibrated for the weight of the gopro, it needs that weight there. When doing a firmware update you HAVE to use the Feiyu usb dongle. When doing a firmware update make sure there are NO batterys in the device. If you do the firmware update as per the video instructions you don’t have to play around with port settings at all as other reviews have said, when the usb dongle is installed, go to My computer, Device manager and next to the usb port it will have the COMM port number there, simply add the port in the feiyu program and it easy from there on, i cannot stress how much you need to watch the video and follow it carefully, it beats any other guides out there.Search for 24atp on Youtube for the guide video, thanks to 24atp for doing this Amazon wont allow direct links here., if you view Feiyu G4 playlist it's the 6th video.

Absolutely fantastic gimbal, totally steady videos
Absolutely fantastic gimbal, totally steady videos, completely eliminated the camera shake, A word of warning though - DO NOT switch it on for the first time without a GoPro attached, it goes mental and you'll think it's faulty.

Feels like quality product
Device is extremely well made. Feels like quality product. Took some time to get used to it,and does give good video, better than trying to hand hold a normal camera. Using this withan Apeman Gopro look alike, which has excellent picture quality. shots taken are quiet goodbut could be better. Had trouble updating firmware, and still not 100%. But, will keep trying. It seems that this model G4 has been replaced with others G4S and G5. Manufacturers website difficult to use. Watched several Youtube tutorials but they seem to open a better web pagethan I can. But, I will keep trying

Simple And Effective.
The gimbal itself is superb. Can't fault it really. The only snag I can come up with is the support app. That doesn't really function in any way that's helpful at all. The issues I had were soon resolved by watching a couple of tuition videos on Youtube. Once I watched those and figured out what was what I had it up and running smoothly and it functions perfectly. I would be happy to recommend this to anyone.

Good but can't update via a Mac.
Due to the fact that the software can't be updated on a Mac ive given it an average rating. If you have windows and don't mind jumping through hoops to upgrade the firmware then this is a good product. Easy to use and very stable. I used a GoPro 3+ with a back screen attached which was not able to rotate the full amount due to the additional size but it can be worked around. So on the whole good but needs the Mac update issue resolved.
