Fluke FLK2AC/200-1000VC ACV Detector, 200V-1000V

I am an engineer repairing machinery in a factory. This little gadget is a real time saver. Unlike some of the similar ones, this is permanently on. You don't have to mess about pressing the on/off button before and after use. Put it to the cable or item required to be tested. You get immediate results so you know if there is power or not. (If it does not light up you can test on a known live source for proof of working) If it lights up where you are testing you know it is fine without having to remove the plug to check the fuse, or in industry no going to distribution boards or main panels. Brilliant, saves loads of time and effort. Well worth the money.

Although it is a bit more expensive than many other cheap voltage detectors you can buy on Amazon, i think this fluke detector is really worth the price, because this is a device where you really can rely on for detecting live wires instead of some other cheap devices where you really can't be sure whether a cable of live or not, even if it flashes or buzzes. After testing this device on a multitude of cables, i've experienced an accuracy ratio of almost 100% ! Only one time did it flash a bit when a cable was not live, but that probably had something to do with another live cable being in the proximity of it. So i can honestly say, this device is probably one of the best voltage detectors out there. Yes, you pay a little more than the cheap ones, but at least with this device you have the assurance that it detects live wires correctly and in the long end, you'll be glad you spend a little extra for buying this one, for the sake of your safety alone. What i also like about it, is the fact that it's always on. So you don't have to push a button to activate, which also means you cannot forget it and eletrocute yourself, i think this is a great safety measure and a nice improvement over the previous version. And on top of that, it has a little button to check if your battery is still good, again a good safety measure. So to summarise, perfect detection of live wires and has all the necessary safety measures such a device should have, so probably one of the best voltage detectors you can buy.

Was having false reading with with my cheap Faithful one so splurged on this. Works flawlessly, the button is nice so you can test it's working without finding a known live wire first, and it feels pretty sturdy too which Is nice since most of these pens feel like you can break them un your hand.

Works well, gutted it doesn't make a noise as well but that was my fault for not reading the description

I've used a dozen different kinds of volt sticks/pens whatever nickname we like to call them. This brand and type has never let me down in 6 years however the others that my colleagues have used have been inaccurate and lead to a few shocks (literally) but this one is by far the best I've used. Remember if in doubt alway prove with you proper tester leads!

Grate product. Only gavery it 4 stars as I would not fully trust it and it should only be used as a indicator of voltage. Not as a tester.

Unfortunately didn’t realise when purchasing that only detects minimum 200v which is pointless safety wise.Need the 90v version which is much safer. My fault, otherwise works well.

Wouldn't be without this little 'pen' now. Has saved me so much time checking for live wires that it literally lives in my pocket now. Fantastic.
