Betaine Plus HP - High Potency Hydrochloric Acid Supplement, Supports Digestive Function 90 Capsules

I'm a longtime consumer of various supplements, and this product has been the single best product I have ever tried. With a lot of other supplements it can take weeks or even months to see any impact, but just one dose of the Betaine Plus HP completely transformed my digestion!! Two capsules is all I need when eating meals that contain animal proteins, and I don't have any bloating, gas, or loose bowel movements. Sometimes you don't realize how problematic your bowel movements are until you start having really great ones! (I'm just being honest, folks!) I even found that when I was on a vacation eating a lot of things I normally wouldn't and would suffer greatly for, I was actually able to eat without negative consequences! I highly recommend this to anyone who has less than perfect digestion. There are lower potency versions both from Biotics (Hydrozyme or HCl Plus) and from other companies, but I wouldn't go with any of those as I know people who have taken 10 or more pills in a meal with still no result. I have recommended this product to friends and colleagues who didn't have much of a result with other HCl products and all across the board they reported a major difference and immediate results with this one.

They make a very good supplement!

I started taking this supplement on the recommendation of my doctor for digestive issues, including vitamin and mineral (especially iron) absorption issues. The product works really well and almost instantly helped with my GI issues. Within about a week (the ramp up period) I was taking 4-5 capsules with each of lunch and dinner. After about a week I started noticing that my sleep was increasingly disturbed and that I was feeling very off mentally- depressed and anxious which is not normal for me. After looking into it, betaine can interfere with tryptophan, which is a serotonin precursor, and can cause these mood and sleep side effects in certain people, especially depending on dose. I had to discontinue taking this product, even though I think it is very helpful for GI issues. I would still recommend this product, but keep an eye out for changes in sleep and mental state.

All I can say after 4 years of using the product, is that it works. My body likes it. "Flavor" doesn't really apply. It's a bit pricey, but since I think it's the best, I just pay what I must.

I recently heard well-known nutritionist, Bob Marshall, say on the radio that Betaine Plus HP would be the one supplement he'd buy if he could afford nothing else, as it promotes getting the maximum nutrition from what you eat. The underlying assumption, of course, is that you eat well. This I do -- organic as much as I can afford, mostly fresh vegetables, home prepared whole foods, almost nothing processed. And still I felt a big boost to my digestion when adding this to my main meal. Ordered two and will repeat when these run out. One of the best supplement companies out there.

I bought this product back in March but didn't begin to use it until the summer, when I had recurring episodes of severe gastric distress--serious indigestion and reflux. As soon as I began to take the product (1 capsule with each meal), my symptoms completely disappeared. I tried taking 2 caps with an extra large meal, but the product is so potent that this dose was too high. Congrats to Biotics Research! I have taken their products before and have never been disappointed but Betaine Plus HP is exceptional. Keep up the good work.

Only time will tell whether this product is all that a doctor said it will be... seems expensive.

I am super happy with this product. use only by advise from my holistic nutritionist. It has really helped lessen my symptoms.

It was prescribed to me by my naturopath as being a terrific product. This is the first time ordering it.

This is a good product, that combines HCL and pepsin for anyone with low stomach acid, the trick is to take it before eating by 30 mins. The capsules come without any instructions on how to take them and the frequency. There are no instructions on storage and I find this to be confusing given the high price point and the seriousness of digestive issues that consumers who seek such therapy would have. I would recommend intake and storage instructions. Do we take one capsule before meals? Do we take one capsule per day? Can we mix this with other apple cider vinegar capsules? I have a few concerns, and I would like clarification because I am ordering this again.

Tried a couple of days but the symptoms still exist.
