It's Gone Terribly Wrong
Something is wrong with this product. I have ordered it several times over the last couple of years. This package states Latin America not Peru. It's the worst raw cacao I've ever used. If it's actually raw. Something is terribly off this time...it's almost like it's Dutch processed, if you can believe that, dark colored like it's burnt instead of the lighter shade of my earlier purchases, off smell and clumpy...it's not the delightful cacao I fell in love with. And it's giving me the stomach ache, too, I mean I've actually determined it's giving me a stomach ache. This really puts me out. I'm ordering another brand right now. I hope it matches it's reviews. All we're looking for is to purchase items that will promote our good health. What a letdown. I've had to cease and desist its use. Since I was ordering to make sure I didn't run out, I can't return it. This is a warning for anyone considering this brand until they are able to go back to the lovely original product. I'll be watching reviews to see if that happens.

Buyer beware
I have used this product for awhile and have gone through several bags w/out major issue. There was the occasional little stone, a black hair, or some shells but I could live w/ these as long as the overall product tasted good. My latest order however tastes like it went rancid during processing. The nibs have a very strong vinegar flavor to them. I found out that this product is not returnable either so you are out roughly $20 for a bag of garbage that is not edible. I fear that this company does not have sufficient quality control over the product that they offer for sale. I will have to find another vendor that actually has some process in place to ensure the product is processed properly and consistently from time of harvest up until delivery into the consumers hands.

but it can contaminate with high metal like mercury, arsenic
Cacao Powder is healthy, but it can contaminate with high metal like mercury, arsenic, lead, etc which can be a major health issue, instead of good for your health. I requested the company to see 3rd party testing for metal contamination, but they refuse to release it to consumers. They claims it privacy reason.

Watch your teeth
I eat cacao nibs a lot and have quite a few different brands. A lot of cocoa nibs have a lot of shells. This brand has far fewer shells than most. HOWEVER, I did find a rock in the nibs. Fortunately, I have learned to eat nibs carefully because of shells so no harm was done.Other than the rock, these were meh. They were less bitter than some brands but also less chocolate flavor. Kind of dusty tasting.

I didn't have enough research to buy this product so ...
I didn't have enough research to buy this product so I think it's partially my fault! I read a review that prompted me to examine the plastic yet heavy duty container & noticed that the Cocoa EXPIRED --7 months ago. I took the time to review but I'm writing another (obviously!) before reading reason why it wasn't posted. I'm hopeful that I don't have to go through too much aggravation to return or replace this cocoa!!!Thanking you in advance for your anticipated prompt attention to this issue.

Delightful cocoa nibs. Natures candy.
These taste really great. I used to be a chef and I worked next to the pastry chef which is where I first had cocoa nib. Finally many years later I purchased this bag. So fat the best thing I do with them is to add them to a cup of coffee. I just drop them in as they are. if gives a wonderful nutty texture with a great chocolate flavor. I like these because they contain no sugar, and it tastes great. I eat low carb, and they have a net carb count of 1 per ounce after you deduct the fiber. I will be buying these again.

Adulterated Cacao Powder, could this be the return of "Aztec- Era" of endangering consumers' health?
This product is adulterated. I plan to send sample to government lab for chemical analysis. The product has a filler that's insoluble in either milk or water. Every time I make a drink of this product with milk, half the cup is insoluble. After I drink I am normally very tired and lethargic. Don't buy any this product. I'll post once I get lab results.Don't buy unless you want to get sick from cadmium and heavy metal poisoning.

super food fountain of youth
great quality I love them, I'm trying to be healthy and have good skin and loads of anti oxidants. evry day I drink green tea eat raw ginger lots of lemon lime and cucumbers,, but I noticed once I got these my skin started to look better... maybe the cocao butter and antioxidants?? anyways I really like it.. I have a small ninja food chopper from Walmart (20 bucks to buy one) I take these nibs and chop them into a fine sand and they mix into stuff better and release the cocoa butter and anti oxidants better too.. I like to stir it into my green tea.... yes... chocholate green tea.. don't knock it until you try it!!! its a wonderful superfood antioxidant punch!! also on serving size, for me, one ounce or 28 grams is too much, I use 14 grams or 1/2 ounce per day, I feel that this helps my skin and I feel good mentally like its brain food... I highly recommend it!
