I've been curious about the game of Backgammon for some time and as I didn't know if I'd like it or not I opted for this cheap set to see what it was all about. It is a basic set but perfectly adequate for the game and is very portable which is a bonus. The included instructions are good but as with most things can be a little confusing especially to a complete novice. I found a very informative series of Youtube videos which together with the instructions in this set got myself and my wife playing the game properly in no time. So I think this is a good basic well enough constructed (made in China, not London of course) set for the price.

Bought as a gift for my son who loves board games. Arrived very promptly and was beautifully packaged, my son was really pleased with it. Great value , would recommend and would buy again .

This is quite a nice set for the £8 I paid. My only niggles are: the printing of the board does not match the setup diagram in the rule book (white where black should be), the dark set of dice really should have white dots for low light conditions and the board could have been quad-fold for portability. Otherwise, nicely packaged and nice to play on for a cheap set.

Decent board for travel or playing at home but badly needs better written rules. The rules are complicated enough without having instructions written with vital facets of the game missing!

There's an error with the colour formatting of the board on this product. Currently the colours of the triangular spaces are exactly the same at facing sides of the board but they should in fact alternate so that when you set off on your journey round the board it goes white/brown/white/brown all the way round. The current format means at the point you turn the corner over to the other side of the board you have a brown/brown/white or white/white/brown. This makes space counting confusing and immediately threw me when I played. I'd have hoped the "oldest games manufacturer in the world" would have got this right by now.

Expected better from Jacques. No cotton bag as promised in both the picture and write up - just a nasty ziploc bag that looked as if it had been kicked around the floor for a while before being put in the box. Board and counters OK but not worth the price tag.

This is a great set and good value for money. It arrived beautifully wrapped in tissue and ribbon. It would be handy if there was an inner box or bag that the board and counters could be stored in but this is only a very small point. We have used it already and it is smaller than our main set so handy for travelling.

Ni la boite cadeau.Beaucoup de blabla pour une boite en carton marron telle qu'elle est présentée sur la photo.Un plateau en carton avec une feuille imprimée collée dessus.Donne une impression en carton bien loin du discours affiché.La qualité anglaise mérite beaucoup mieux que cela.Si ce n'était pas un cadeau pour noël, je retournerais cet article.

Tolles Spiel mit einer wunderschönen Verpackung. Die Verpackung ist fast schöner als das Spiel und man möchte die Schachtel gar nicht öffnen. Der Preis ist ok und es sieht wirklich sehr schön aus.
