Review: Great book to prepare a big sister to be - My 2 year old is soon to be a big sister and this is a lovely book! She loves the button to make the baby giggle, it’s a fun novelty to engage her, but she also enjoys the pictures and story. It starts with mummy’s bump which she likes as that’s relatable and then of course the baby comes along. I’m pretty sure the baby will still be a big shock when it does come but I genuinely feel this is helping to prepare her and will be useful in the first weeks whilst she adjusts. Review: Great to prepare a toddler/preschool girl about to become a big sister BEFORE the birth. - We purchased this as part of a 'big sister' present arranged for our 3 year old daughter on the birth of our second child, and it has gone down a storm partly because of the 'big sister' aspect and recognising new and changing things about our family life, but also because it makes a noise!! This is great if you are intending to breastfeed as it normalises breastfeeding without making it obvious or a song and dance about the decision which is how it should be. I do however think we might have given this to our daughter a little late, thank goodness we had bought a few other big sister/sibling books prior to this (it arrived the day before my delivery) as it spends a decent amount of time talking about mummy's tummy, packing for hospital and staying with grandparents before you get to the baby coming home bit. This is different to some other big sibling books which jump off with the baby already home and I wish I'd known this in advance as I would have switched a different book to the birth-day bag instead of this one. Overall, this is an excellent book for a toddler/preschooler girl about to become a big sister, in retrospect I would introduce this some point from 32 weeks onwards so it prepares for changes and sets expectations of what may happen when the baby is born and comes home rather than as a gift after the birth.

I would definitely recommend
we absolutely love this book anyone got a little girl and expecting I would definitely recommend this book it normalises brestfeeding, it explains why mum and dad are at the hospital that princess Polly will be staying with her grandma overall think it's a really good book I read it with my little girl and and I explained that she will be staying with family members why Mummy and Daddy goes to the hospital to have baby Jones. I also love the facts that you dont know the babies sex in the book. For someone who isn't finding out the sex of the baby this really appeal to me. also the noise button is pretty cute but but if people find it annoying you can turn it off at the back but personally I loved it

Best big sister book we bought
I bought this book for my 2 year old to help prepare her for the arrival of her baby brother. Firstly I like the fact that it's English (one of the other Big Sister books I bought refers to 'diapers' and 'mommy') and the story is simple enough for a 2 year old to understand. Its also great that it shows mummy breastfeeding the new baby as I was worried this would be a confusing concept for a toddler to understand so it's useful to introduce the idea before baby arrives - the other books we bought just show bottle feeding. My daughter enjoys reading the book together and I think it did help to prepare her a little. The only downside is the giggle sound it makes - I don't think its necessary and doesn't really add anything, I've found it distracts my daughter from the story. Other than that though it's the best of the 3 Big Sister books we bought so I would recommend it.

Great for soon to be big sister!! Big hit!
I liked that the baby in the book is not identified as a boy or girl so that we could talk about baby as a girl (we were having a girl). The baby giggle was a bit hit with our daughter. The interactive parts of the book were engaging and it covered preparing for baby and what it would be like when baby was home. This book really grabbed my daughters attention and she applied some of the concepts once her baby sister was home too which was so helpful and very sweet. (Note: our daughter was 22/22 months old when we got this for her in preparation for the arrival of her baby sister a month later)

Perfect
I got this for my daughter when I was pregnant and it's perfect, it summarises well the arrival of the baby and the change of routine it involves. Visitors are coming, baby cries a lot, princess helps mummy with changing the baby, and princess still has quality time with parents when baby sleeps. Bonus the mum in the book breastfeeds (although it is subtle and could pass for a bottle)! There is a button to press on each page to hear the baby giggle. I also have princess Polly's potty and this one is a nice addition.

Really helpful
I have a 3 year old and a new baby on the way and we had tried multiple times to explain to her about the new baby and in different ways and she couldn't get her head around it until we read this to her. It's a sweet book with bright colours and pictures and a noise button, which is informative for a young big sister-to-be while also being positive and realistic about the new changes coming.

Great little book
I'm 6 months pregnant and had been having a few issues with my 4 year old Daughter showing some signs of jealously at the thought of a new baby. After reading the reviews (and previously using the potty training book from this range) I decided to get this. It's a lovely little book, great little story, nice and colourful etc, really holds her attention and she asks to be read it very often. It starts from baby being in mummy's tummy to birth and bringing baby home etc. Really sets the scene of what will happen. Also bought 'I'm a big sister' by Joanne Cole but that isn't as good. Would highly recommend this book - It's great.

I’m expecting and it’s a great book that will help me to prepare my older child for the new arrival

We ordered a few books for our 4 year old daughter to prep for her baby brother's arrival. This book hits all of the right topics and is the ONLY book I found to show a mother breastfeeding! It shares in the excitement of baby's arrival, shows how big sister can be a helper, eludes to not all moments being happy (baby cries, and cries) but shows resolution, discusses how mom and dad go to the hospital for a few days while sister stays with grandma (this is very helpful for our situation, but I could see how it would not be relevant for those choosing home birth), and shows how mom and dad still love and play with big sister. Bonus - there is a button to hear baby giggle, which makes it slightly interactive. I watched read alongs for several books on Youtube to know if I liked the storyline and this was our favorite!

The content of the story is great and my older child likes it. I was disappointed, however, that sound of the book did not work upon arrival. I had read in the product description that I should enable sound with the button on the back, which I did, but it still does not work - this feature was a main reason for me to purchase the item in the first place. I did not expect that I would need to obtain new batteries immediately in order to enjoy the book fully.
