No, it's not squirrel-proof. The only feeder I've ever found that's really squirrel-proof has a perch that drops down a shield over the seed when something as heavy as a squirrel gets on it. The only reason I have the feeder you asked about is that I haven't seen any squirrels in southern Arizona where I live now. There are lots of hawks and coyotes here, which probably explains the lack of squirrels. I hope this is helpful
