Great rock hammer
This is a great hammer for rock hounding. It fits secure on the outside of my backpack. I even used the small piece of Tyson tubing that it was shipped with. Keeps it from poking things when the trail gets rough. I have pounded on a few rocks and it seems to hold up well. Just ensure you’re wearing safety glasses while using. It was a great price I thought. The handle length is great so you can get some speed for impact. I made a foam pad for the entire hammer. Just some foam insulation that was laying around. Wonder why someone hasn’t done this, I can’t figure out. Must be money. Also, the damping in the handle is awesome. Not much impact goes to your hand.

Works for digging out weeds
I use this as a weed removal tool and it works great. Very sturdy and a good weight.

So good for me, I purchased another one.
I am 74 and live in a rural rock yard. I grow herbs like yarrow, prunella vulgaris, skullcap, and vegetables so I need to dig in the ground to add soil into the rocks when I plant things. This pick helps me get the rocks out and it's very easy to handle for an older person. I have raised beds on top of the property and plants below the house so I have one in both areas. I have bigger picks but this is one piece and does the jobs I require of it. I'm glad I purchased both of them and would again if needed, but it's very well made.

Way better quality than most more expensive brands.
This is nicer than the expensive picks. There are pick axes listing at $60 - $80 that don't even come close to this $20 pick. I specifically bought this for the solid metal core construction. Most of the expensive other options are a fiberglass handle and separate head - which I did not want since I have spend plenty of time using a pick axe on my property and without fail at some point the dang head comes loose. I will never buy tools like this with a separate head again. Get this ..it will last forever and is 1/3rd the price.

Beautiful and functional -- but could be even better
I am using this to fit stones in a lakeside seawall I am slowly building. (Like Winston Churchill - I am an amateur) The hammer looks gorgeous - but be careful, it will rust very quickly.. Unlike its wooden-handled predecessor, it will not break and fling its head into the lake. But compared with the wooden one, it will transmit far more reflected energy back into your bones. The rubber handle helps a little. The pointy pick is occasionally very persuasive, when you are coaxing a rock to change its shape. Alas, it claims to be heavy -- but perhaps they are weighing the handle as well(?) because it is too light-headed to satisfy me. To break granite, I have to swing it very hard and fast. I'd rather invest more energy into lifting it. Then on the downstroke, I'd let the hammer do the brute work while I focus on landing it in the right spot.

Great trench cutter
Cutting a small trench in a rock yard for drip lines can be a pain. This is the perfect tool for that. It rips through the rocks and gives you a shallow trench with ease.

Great item
We purchased this pick to break through the impossible Arizona dirt which is more like cement and plant some new cactus. It works really well and makes the job easier. Well built, sturdy, and not too heavy for a man or woman to use.

I like this tool.
Nice attractive tool. I use it for weeding gravel driveways. Dandelion killer. No worry about a cast iron tip breaking off.

This Rock Pick is a MUST in our garden. My wife loves her garden, me not so much, she is forever digging and pruning, this device is virtually indispensable, it has enough weight which enables it to dig around plants easily. It is actually the first tool that she has responded by saying "Where did you get this, I love it"
