Good item for the money
Item arrived one day late but this was due to snow on the street and DPD could not get down. The item is exactly as described. Having used a much more expensive item of similar type and this failed on second use in a media centre case, I decided to try this one. The PCB's are nicely etched and the ribon cables all cut to the same length, the connections are made up of four ribbon cables soldered on two sides of the boards. Having read the reviews and taken note of shorted boards etc. I decided to check all soldered joints. If you carefully pull back the tape and check each side in turn with a magnifying glass and torch this will give you piece of mind on the subject of shorted joints. This is a painstaking process but is well worth the effort. The only thing found was surplus flux and no solder between connections, but well worth the effort, because soldering the connections rather than IDC plugs and sockets can easily lead to fried boards.Following inspection the adapter was fitted, the PCI-E card fitted and the ribbon cable folded very carefully. All okay on first boot no problems.

Strange issues for me
It appeared to work at first but on further testing I realised there was a strange issue with pass through HDMI audio where the audio would stutter then cut out and even slowed down whatever video was playing. These very strange issues disappeared when not using the riser cable.I'm guessing that this is most likely caused by crosstalk or maybe even a tiny short in the solder that I can't see. Either way, it's no good to me like this.

I plugged a GTX 750 ti SC into one of these with the intention of getting vertical airflow over all the components in my hardware. It simply wouldn't work with the riser from this seller. The card worked absolutely fine without. There looked like there were a number of complaints against the quality of the soldering from other customers.I might tinker and change the star rating if I get the time (assuming the riser works).

Didn't work with my graphics card
Didn't work with my graphics card, the computer wouldn't boot reliably. The 3M version of this with the flat metalized twinax cables is MUCH better although priced accordingly!

Worked perfectly with a Nvidia GTX 750.
Works perfectly with a Nvidia GTX 750. I initially thought that the cable might be faulty as my computer refused to boot beyond the BIOS start up screen after plugging in the graphics card. However, when I tried the card directly in the motherboard PCIe slot there was no difference! Turned out I had to update the BIOS! After that everything worked fine both direct and with this extender. I now have a mini-ITX system capable of gaming!

Amazing, I was dubious that it would solve my problem which was a mix of the motherboard being tiny and the CPU cooler being too wide, I managed to bend the cable under the heatsink and connected the GPU which is working perfectly.

Worked without fault.
What more can I say about this item than it worked as intended? If you need a ribbon cable to mount your PCIe graphics card in an odd fashion this fits the bill.

It works!
It Works! was a little skeptical looking at thermaltake PCIe riser cable and then this, but i took a risk and bought this to vertically install my MSI 1060 OC1 6Gb graphics card and it worked. I've had no problems whatsoever. for the price it's a steal if you compare with the other PCIe riser cables in the market. I just hope it lasts without any issues

Perfecto
Perfecto, me ha permitido elevar la tarjeta gráfica principal y poder aprovechar todos los pciexpress de mi placa.Mucho más barato que los de otras marcas con precios desorbitados, tan solo es una faja de cables con dos conectores en los extremos.

It seems to work
The build looks and feels pretty cheap but it works for now. Will update in a few months.

Suspect quality - READ BEFORE BUYING
This piece of hardware seems flimsy. I installed this into my machine and bent it around to get it in the right position, and 4 pins broke off from the ends. The soldering looks suspect. If you have to buy this one make sure you are extremely careful with the placement. This error cost me 3 hours of troubleshooting before I finally figured out that, no, my memory isn't dead, no my motherboard isn't dead, no, the video card works fine, but oh, its just the dang card extender!

Terrible Quality
I dont know if they're all this bad, but the solder joints were awful on this. Some looked cold, some had the wire lifted off the pad only connected with a small bridge of solder, some were offset so they were just a tiny hair width from the neighboring wire. Worse than the solder joints the wires were stripped probably 1/4" above where they were soldered so with a little movement of the cable and the wires will touch each other thus shorting pins together. Just a terrible idea, I can see how these would work using the cheap ribbons and be effective, but based on the one I received I would steer far away from these.

Effective solution
Low cost effective way to move your video card. There are many reasons you may want to move the video card in your system. In my case I was trying to install a 2U video card in a dell computer. Many older Dell computers hold the GPU upside down and this caused my new 2U video card not to fit as the CPU heatsink was in the way. In order to mount the GPU you may have to do some fabrication to fit differently. In my case it was a temporary use so I simply removed the computer from its chassis.

Did not work
Tried to use this for a wall mounted PC setup so I could mount the video card flush with the board but these things never worked and output a lot of heat. They might've burnt out or shorted something in the video card if I kept trying to use them. Would not recommend.

Avoid these cables
Absolute junk. Bought 2 cables and one would either not let the motherboard post or would work for a minute and then turn the screen black. The other one seemed to work fine for about 20 minutes and then would turn the screen black as well. I've used risers in the past and none of them have ever given me any troubles like this. I should have known from the moment I opened them and they smelled strongly like burnt plastic that I should have spent the money on better ones.

Ribbon cable ripped from base
The ribbon cable came apart from the adapter. Looks like the solder points on the end are super thin and fragile.
