I wanted to use this with a 16" crash cymbal but unfortunately I find that the change in sound is minimal.

I suspect that some of the other reviews below do not refer to this product!! Like the previous reviewer, I was expecting more of an effect on my ride cymbals. In fact it hardly made a difference... Not an audible one anyway.

The effect of the bead resting on the bell will kill the sustain of your cymbal. It seems incredible that a brand like Meinl would make such a basic error. What you're paying for here is a washer and a section of sink plug beaded chain - that's it. No improvement on a generic one, or the very basic DIY version that will cost you around £1 to make... Functionally you will get the same performance if you just attach a beaded chain to a split ring and throw that on your cymbal. You can DIY a much better one with a little heat shrink that will carry the beaded chain out over the bell. Love Meinl ching rings. This is poor. Meinl - you need to up your game here.
