Strong & Durable Hessian Jute Potato Sacks 30cm x 45cm (Pack of 1)

I didn’t expect it to be so smallBit saying that very good quality and well made.

Item arrived quickly. As described but slightly disappointed with the quality - not as sturdy as I expected. Would be better with some sort of handle or drawstring. However holds quite a lot of potatoes!

Just what were looking for in the way of storage sacks, not too small and not too large. Plenty of room for our root vegetables and easy to put away in a dark cupboard. One thing we would say is that before you put any root vegetables in the sacks make sure they are at room temperature and dry, we found that the sacks hold moisture and we have had some vegetables rot. Now we know we always do this before storing.

Might be better if these came with instructions on how to use them and how to wash and look after them. Never mix Onions with other vegetables in the same bag, as they give off fumes that will affect the storage properties of other vegetables. Nb: If you do NOT use a full onion for a recipe, either discard the unused portion or double wrap it and refrigerate - BECAUSE - a peeled/cut onion attracts BACTERIA like nobody's business from what I have read of late. Some people might place a cut onion in say a bedroom with an ill person (colds, flu etc.) to attract bacteria to it - maybe placed in a bowl of water ..... again, from what I read recently.

The sack could have been larger

We had found that our veg box spuds were not storing well in the cupboard so I got this and we now keep them in the garage. Perfect! Keeps them really dry and they sprout much less. Areal money-saver. Would be handy to have a little hanging loop, but that's be a small point. Loved that there was hardly any smell... sometimes hessian is quite whiffy!

Only comment would be that a method to hang them when full would be useful. I’m using for veg from allotment, so air around them important.
