I was a fan of Tide most of my life but the budget dictated I make some budget cuts. Being the nerd I tend to be, I researched Consumer Reports to find more affordable options. I switched to the other well known brand, but noticed my whites weren't as white, stains were not coming out, and colors were starting to look worn prematurely. So, I put my research hat back on and started digging for another laundry detergent that was effective and wouldn't break the bank. I learned that P&G makes Tide, Gain and Ariel. I had never heard of Ariel. Plus it's a powder. I have always had good success with powders in the past.Well, I love how effective Ariel is in cleaning my clothes, removing stains, and the scent is amazing. This is every bit as good as Tide and much less expensive in my area. I would highly recommend for most people.One possible concern is people with scent sensitivities. The scent is fresh but it is a little strong. I personally love how it makes my clothes smell, but as an RN, I know some people cannot tolerate strong smells, even good ones, so felt I needed to mention it in my review. If you like your clothes to smell fresh and clean after washing and drying, this product is worth trying. You won't be disappointed!

Ariel powder has quickly become my go-to detergent. It gets clothes noticeably cleaner than other brands I’ve tried, even on tougher stains and in cold water. The scent is fresh without being overpowering, and it actually sticks around after drying.As you can see in my photo, I buy it in bulk and mix it with boosters — it dissolves well and never leaves residue behind. Works just as well in my HE washer as it does in a standard machine. For the cleaning power and long-lasting freshness, it’s worth keeping on hand.

This is a very powerful laundry soap it gets dirt out it's fresh it's good quality for money and a powerful stain reliever. I absolutely love this that's good freshness works well when cleaning my clothes and it has a very fresh smell.

Love this!!! I mix it with the downy one and it works great. Clean laundry, no clumping, no residue, smells amazing. And it doesn’t irritate our skin. It keeps my whites white and colors bright. Will be using this from now on!

Amazing! Forget about using those green washing laundry detergents. Just use the old and tried. I will say, one con is that although the scent is amazing, it is EXTREMELY over powering and WILL fill up any room you are in. If you use the laundry detergent CORRECTLY, you will not smell any fragrance after you're done with your laundry. This is not a bad thing. It means the detergent did its job correctly and no residue is left. I would highly recommend this.

Love love love this detergent!! We originally purchased the smaller bags at the big box store to try to save money. We had been using a big name brand liquid and it was just getting too expensive for our family.When the big box store kept being out of stock, I turned to Amazon. This big bag lasts our family a long time and is a great value. Works great for most dirt, etc. I will use extra stain remover for hubby's grease spotted clothes if they don't come clean the first wash, but I had to do that with the brand name detergent as well. I have recommended this detergent to many people. We absolutely love it. Doesnt take much per load. Smells great and lasts a long time.

Cleans just fine, but the scent is absolutely insane.It’s not terrible smelling, but it’s strong, similar to Gain.Probably would not buy again, but it’s fine if you are short on money for getting Tide.

Frequent purchase. Smells and cleans very good. Good price. We keep ours in a plastic bucket.
