Yes. My husband uses these gloves to prevent the rabbits from scratching and trying to bite him. So far the gloves have prevented any nasty nips!!

Q: I have a patch of blackthorn bush with massive thorns i need to remove. Are these gloves heavy duty enough to stop those thorns?

They will help. They will protect against being scratched by the thorns.They are as good as wealding gloves I've paid 5x as much for. However blackthorn is EVIL and if a thorn goes in straight rather than sideways scratching, it may still penetrate. They are very good value and I would advise getting them for the job, but still procede with caution. Blackthorn thorns not only penetrate but the tips break off deep and can cause a lot of pain and infection.

Q: can i use these as oven gloves?

Not if you cook like my wife! They are not as thick/insulated at oven gloves. Handy for gardening though as they protect your forearms for prickles, thorns, etc. ;)
