They recommend a 50% tap water 50% distilled/demineralised water blend. BEWARE that your guarantee will be invalidated if they can claim the problem is limescale & you haven't done this.

Q: Will this fit on a normal ironing board

Hello. I put the generator bit on the floor as, its quite heavy when filled with water. The Steam hose is easily long enough to reach the full length and width of the ironing board. I hope this helps.
