PERFECT!
A lovely, lightweight iron,so sleek in appearance and yet it does a perfect job when it comes to its' main purpose...ironing! I've had steam irons over the years but always ended up preferring my old dry iron which is now in a sad state,so I was thrilled to discover this at Amazon with great reviews and every one is correct. So simple to use, heats up really quickly,no messing about with water/steam...just an easy temperature dial for various fabrics. I was a bit concerned it might arrive with a 2-pin plug but even that was not a worry...a lovely 3-pin one is attached. A lovely, "old-fashioned" iron with a modern update...and does exactly as you would hope for and expect from Philips,a name of quality.

Excellent product
This is the first dry iron I've ever bought. I bought it because after several issues of bizarre brown liquid emanating from various steam irons in the past, I finally damaged a shirt permanently with an unexpected spurt of such liquid. Owning this makes me wonder why anyone invented a steam iron in the first place. This dry one gets hot quickly, irons clothes efficiently regardless of setting, glides smoothly, is super light and most importantly NO BIZARRE LIQUID RUINING YOUR CLOTHES!! If there is one possible drawback, I would say that ironing takes longer than with a steam iron. Time, care and concentration is required to successfully iron out creases but this could be said for any product in today's world. Convenience = poor quality and we have often traded the ability to get a task done well with the ability to get it done quickly. Big mistake as this iron proves. I am both surprised and pleased by this terrific and useful implementation of timeless technology. Well done, Phillips!

Great iron, just lacks a few features of most modern irons
I was very surprised by this iron. I didn't even know dry irons were a thing and I was very skeptical after reading some reviews on here. My last iron had started leaking water and i was tired of this happening, it also use to bug me whenever I went to iron something and there was no water in the iron, so when I found this dry iron i took a punt. It is great! It is slightly smaller than a normal iron and it is super light. I had read some reviews saying that it did not heat up anywhere near hot enough and so I turned it up to full, got out a shirt which is normally tricky to iron and gave it a go. Worked a treat, iron the shirt as well if not better than a steam iron. It irons trousers, t-shirts and just today I ironed some denim jeans all without any issues. It seems to get plenty hot enough for me and just putting my hand within 20cm of the hotplate i can feel intense heat coming from it. Only downsides it seems to lack features like auto off which I feel is a good safety feature that should be on all devices that heat up like this. Also the cable on the iron is very short, much shorter than my current iron and so short in fact I have had to start ironing in a different part of the house where I can get closer to a socket.

PRAISE FOR THE AFFINIA DRY ELECTRIC IRON.
I bought this iron as a replacement for a larger electric steam iron. I had sprained my right wrist which has been taking a while to correct itself. found the steam iron too heavy to handle properly. After reading the details about the Affinia dry iron, at a very reasonable price, I placed my order just before Christmas, and it came very quickly. I have now been able to use it several times and find it ideal for my condition. For anyone with difficulty in lifting, I would recommend this iron very highly. It is compact, it heats up quickly, being only 1200W it consumes a reasonable amount of power, and the Dynaglide sole-plate moves over the different fabrics easily and without excess effort, even though different heat levels are suggested for those fabrics. As a mere man, I would recommend this iron if the user cannot manage a heavier steam version.

Nice iron , pity about the plug
A very nice lightweight dry iron. Just what we were looking for. However to supply the UK market with a bonded 2 pin plug is ridiculous. The iron cannot be used until you buy an adaptor. The plug could be cut off and replaced with a 3 pin plug but that would void the guarantee. Alternatively the supplier/manufacturer could include the correct adaptor with the iron in the first place.

The Perfect Iron for the Perfect Man (or woman)
A simple dry iron without all the bells and whistles of more expensive irons. This has replaced my £60 Philips Azur iron of 3 years, which has become scorched and difficult to keep clean. Unless you really need a steam iron then this will do exactly what you want it do. It works just as good as the Azur. I actually find it easier to use. It's perfect for the guy or lady who doesn't iron many clothes. It glides effortlessly across my cotton shirts and jeans. It doesn't get very hot but it gets the job done. The cord is a good length (almost 2 metres). If this lasts me a couple years I won't hesitate to buy another one at this price. Fantastic value for money. Get one.

I have tried this dry iron in Seoul, when the hotel where I was staying lended it to me for a few days. I loooooved this product so much that when I came back home, I bought one of it from your Web site. Unfortunately, I did not read the specifications and did not see that it was only offered with a UK electrical cord... (I live in Canada). I realized that situation too late for me to return the iron. I called the company to see if I could use an adaptor, but apparently, I cannot. Therefore, I cannot use it, and I am terribly disappointed!
