Hello, could you use these for scoring curves on ceramic or porcelain tiles before breaking with hand tile pliers?

This glass cutter will score ceramic or porcelain, but how well it works is a matter of how skilled you are. You might find it easier to cut curves with a blade or point type scribe rather than a wheel type. (Toyo is a wheel type cutter). The toyo works fine scoring glass with a straight edge as a guide.

Is the cutting head tc-17vv (as the picture shows) or the tc-17?

I ordered TC17B but I see on my cutter it says TC-17VV..I am an amateur but it works fine

Is the cutting head supposed to be loose on the handle? While I don't think that it is going to come off during use the head does rotate slightly.

I bought this glass cutter after my greenhouse sustained some damage in a recent storm. I did not know how to cut glass but my builders merchant gave me a lesson on how to do so and recommended I buy an oil fed cutter. This is an incredible glass cutter and I was able to use up the lot of spare glass I had. The head of this cutter does have a few degrees of swivel from side to side but this appears to be how it is designed. When you are cutting keep cutting blade perfectly straight ie do not angle it and apply the same pressure on the blade throughout the length of the cut. I have made no mistakes on 4mm glass and only had one unsuccessful cut on 6 mm . I now cut both side of 6mm glass. I hope this is helpful to your enquirer.
