Love this iron and it’s easy to use charging stand
My last iron was cordless but unfortunately was accidentally broken (dropped) hence me buying this product. After using cordless irons I wouldn’t go back to non-cordless as it’s so much easier. This iron’s stand is easy to place on your board and to return iron between use. The light up ring from red to green is visual to let you know charging/ed. I note people comment on length of charged time but I find this no problem as you - iron, put it back on stand to move your garment then pick it up and iron again. Even if the light turns red when ironing, the plate is still very hot to iron until you recharge to your heat preference. Charging is very quick so there’s no delay ironing. I would recommend this product.

Some good features but does lose heat quite quickly
This is my second cordless iron and it has some good features my old one didn’t like auto shut-off and the “smart light” that lets you know when it needs reheating so you don’t get to the point that water starts dripping out because it’s cooled down too much. It does seem to cool quicker than my last one but I think it also heats up quicker. I don’t find it that much slower than a corded iron because it just reheats while you reposition the clothes on the ironing board or swap items. It would be nice if you could lock it to the base for carrying to and from the cupboard but that’s a very minor quibble. It irons perfectly well and no cord tangling around the board, so overall I’m happy.

It's a pretty good Iron
If you are a fast Ironer then this is probably not for you as you will be waiting for each recharge to complete, but if you like to iron at a steady pace this iron is perfect. We Iron the garment, put iron back in the holder, reposition garment, iron second side etc with no rush and the iron is pretty much ready with very little pauses for it to catch up.

This might be going back - but cannot see update
at the time of writing this review I have used the iron once. On the plus side, ironing without a wire getting coiled up or in the way is great. However, the item I have doesn't seem to heat up as quickly as stated in the enclosed literature. There is no mark as to where the heat dial should point to, so I am not sure if I have selected the maximum or minimum temperature. On that only use, the heat retention seemed to be good enough for minimum or non iron items only. This would mean that for those who like to iron their bed linen the iron may be on the stand longer than it is actually doing any ironing. I will have another go with the iron later and update this review. OK. I have used the iron again and things are not as bad as I first thought. Playing with the heat dial got me to the max and min settings. The time between heat charges still seems short but putting the iron on the base when manoeuvring the item being ironed helps to keep the iron hot, so it is a change of work flow to make sure I put the iron on the stand. I am going to persist with the iron as the weight and lack of a wire is an advanatage and I have a press for large bedding items. Update. My iron has died! The red light comes on and turns green when supposedly up to temperature but the iron is cold. Cold pressed juices good, cold pressed clothes bad. Too far out of any warranty for Russell Hobbs to be able to do anything.

Quite good, like the indicator lights
I have had a few cordless irons now and they all have their pros and cons. This one is one of the best I have tried, and the lights help you work out when you must stick it back in its cradle. It does take a little bit of time to reheat occasionally and sometimes I don’t always get it sat in its dock properly, but actually overall pretty good. You get a reasonable amount of steam to do the ironing, and the water refill is easy to use and seals well.

At last - cable-free ironing!
I read the reviews before buying and it looked positive. This seems to be the only 'conventional' iron (i.e., not the fancy steam generator type) that is cordless. I understood the issue of the iron cooling down and the need frequently to replace it on the stand, but this seemed a minor matter compared the benefits of quick heat-up and, especially, no cable, and so it proved to be. I am a man who loves ironing so much that I send it out to be done! I only use an iron to press trousers, yet, after my first use of this iron, I was actively looking for something else to iron! Heat-up is amazingly quick! I switched it on to get it ready whilst I put up the ironing board and, by the time I had picked up, but not even laid out, the jeans that I had to iron, the green light was already on! One reviewer thought that the cable is too short, which it is if you want to iron using next door's power, but it is, in fact, the usual length for an iron. It could easily be shorter because the base is not moving anywhere, so I don't see the problem. I can understand that ironing sheets might be less efficient because of the cool-down, but I doubt it. The return to the set heat takes only a few seconds, during which, surely, you would be repositioning the item. There is a useful tone that sounds when the iron heat falls below the selected setting but it seems not to be mentioned in the booklet. The pulse of extra steam is useful and is so powerful that it causes the iron to lift a fraction. The spray is actually that, rather than the jet provided by my last iron - a Bosch. This Russell Hobbs replacement for it is excellent and I recommend it.

Iron is good, but it would have been sensible to forward the item with an Australian, not UK, plug!!!

Mon épouse n''a pas pu l'essayer, car la prise pour se connecter est une prise américaine, et je n'ai pas trouvé d'adaptateur adéquat.

I didn’t realise this iron was coming from overseas. It around with the wrong plug size for Australian sockets. I then had to pay $30 for return postage
