Shungite in history. Shungite is an ancient natural rock formation (two billion years) that has an unusual composition and structure. Good quality
It was a lil sharp on the edges ,, but could be filed with a nail file I’m sure. I love it. Gonna make a hand braided senew chain for it this falll. Highly recommend!

EXCELLENT customer service GORGEOUS, AUTHENTIC shungite!
*UPDATE* I got the standard Amazon email from the seller thanking me for my purchase and asking that if I wasn't happy with it to please let him know. I had already written this review but went ahead and replied attaching the pics of the off center hole. The next day I received a reply apologizing for the defective pendant also stating he'd already sent a replacement. It came today and I couldn't be more pleased! I've added a pic of the replacement pendant as well as the defective pendant. I wanted to add too, that I have now purchased shungite jewelry and stones from a variety of sellers on Amazon and have read the reviews for all of my purchases and I keep seeing people complain about fake shungite because it has streaks and or a black coating. If you've done your research you'll know that the type of shungite most jewelry is made from is grade 3, the lowest grade and more often than not contains a mixture of other minerals with pyrite being the most prevalent (fool's gold). Noble or Elite shungite is too soft to carve into shapes or make beads from so type 3 is generally used for jewelry other than just chunks used as pendants . The streaks or spots are perfectly normal and I personally think they add character. As far as the black coating some of it is an added cosmetic treatment but underneath the shungite is definitely real, it's just a little bit dull in comparison. If you've ever shoveled coal or used it in a stove for heat you know that the black dust gets everywhere and sticks Like Glue LOL. So just FYI for anyone seeing streaks or dust it is perfectly normal and not indicative of fake shungite.This is my first piece of Shungite and I was so so excited to get it! Unfortunately, upon opening it the first thing that jumped out at me about it was the blatantly off-center hole. I mean come on! It's like whoever did this didn't even try. That or they did it blindfolded. That might sound harsh but what am I supposed to do with this? Things like this really upset me because what should have been a beautiful gift from the earth was treated with complete disregard. It's like setting a precious stone in cheap metal that turns your finger green... WHY??? How hard is it to center a hole??? I posted a picture of how ridiculously lopsided it hangs so clearly I can't use it as a pendant. I'm super disappointed. I will say that if the hole had been centered properly I'd have given it 10 stars if I could. I'm very unhappy with my purchase but I guess there's a chance other pendants were made with more care so if you order one you might get a properly drilled pendant that will hang straight, but then again you might not. Such a shame.

Perfect to me
Love love love. I washed it cleansed it. It’s cute it’s just enough. Sizing I made to take on and off perfectly. String in thin however keeps the focus on the stone.

Great item bad string
This is a wonderful amulet to protect you from bad energy however the string they put it on is so awful that I almost lost it because it unties while it's on your body no matter how many knots you put in it. So if you get a better string you got a better item.

You get what you pay for
You get what you pay for! Necklace came with stone and a piece of string threaded through it - no hooks or clasps. Hole in stone was drilled too far down to easily put any standard size O-ring thru it to make it into a decent necklace. Crystal broke before even getting the necklace on, but it will do for the purposes needed.

String Came Off Upon Washing
I like the Shungite stone smoothness and black string. However, as directions mentioned washing the crystal, when I did, the string came off. I was unable to put it back on the pendant in a way to make it stay on the pendant. Also, after washing the pendant there appeared to be very slight scratches on the pendant. I don't believe that happened when I washed it in soapy water with a dish cloth. i am unsure if these marks are natural to the crystal. Right now I am wearing the pendant inside my brassiere to keep it close to my body.
