Perfect everyday slippers
I absolutely love these slippers! I'm considering buying a few more in alternate colors. I'll share a few things I love about them!First of all, they're really fluffy. There is a lot of padding, and it make the slipper a bit larger than some other moccasins I've had. I still think they look nice, and the extra bulk makes them very warm. They're also very sturdy. They're well-made and the rubber sole has turned out to be really versatile. I work from home and sometimes need to run outside for few minutes, pick up my kiddo from school, or do a few quick errands. I have worn my slippers in a number of settings and they worked great. The only small gripe I've had is that they slip off my feet a bit. I figured out how to really cinch down the lace on top to help while they're on, but that also means that I haven't reach down to get them on my feet. They can't just slip on. It's a very minor issue, and I definitely don't think it annoys me enough to remove any stars.I usually wear an 8.5 or 9 and I ordered a 9. I think the fit in terms of length and width is fine. I'm wondering if the overall "largeness" of the slipper doesn't make some people feel like they're a bit too big. There's definitely a little bit of extra space, but I also appreciate the ability to throw a wool sock on and still have the slippers fit.

Spend your money on something more durable.
I've been buying the Old Friend brand or moccasin house shoes for about 15 years. I usually have to replace the insole at the one year mark and the shoes themselves at the 2 year mark. The last 2 pairs I've bought have worn out before the one year mark. The sole stitching has broken and come out in some places, or even broken through the rubber sole. The bottoms of the rubber soles have thinned so much that they're ready to wear through. The upper is separated from the sole and the rubber is deteriorating and breaking off. The inner toe box has a hole to the outside where the shoe is separated. The fur on the inside lining of the quarter is worn down to the bare leather and cannot be replaced. This is all after one year of indoor use only and in addition to the fur being worn off the insole (which is normal). I won't be buying this brand again.

Poor Quality - Cannot Recommend
Update after 9 months:Unfortunately, I am changing my review from 4 stars to 1 star. The original photos in my review show the new version compared to a pair I had for 6 years, which was worn but still wearable. I’ve added two new photos at the end which show my current pair after just 9 months. The inner lining has already worn down completely at pressure points like the heel and one of the soles has cracked. I wear these exclusively indoors around the house, so there’s no reason my original pair should have lasted years and the new ones lasted just months. This is disappointing to me, given how much I loved my old pair and how often I would buy them as gifts for others. At the high price and the clearly low quality this product now is, I can no longer recommend them and will not be buying from Old Friend again.——————————————Original 4-Star Review:I love the loafer moccasins from Old Friend; they're my go-to gift for pregnant friends and family and I wear them myself all the time when I'm at home. I ordered my last pair for myself about 6 years ago and had worn them to death, but they were still so comfortable that I had a hard time justifying new ones.I finally broke down and ordered another pair and was surprised like another reviewer to see that the chestnut ones were now more pink than I remembered (photos of the old pair and new pair attached). Had I known this, I probably would have gone with dark brown or something. I don't love the new color. However, it's been so long that I can't say for sure that these might not take on a more chestnut color as they age.Another reviewer also commented on the "pitting" in the leather. I was surprised to see this as well, but when I looked at my 6-year-old pair, it was clear that they had the same pitting, it had just worn enough over time that it wasn't noticable. My guess is that Old Friend has found some new manufacturers over time and that these are potentially a little lower quality than they used to be. The text on the shoe box had tons of typos; enough that I was almost concerned these were a knockoff. In the end, even if they are a knockoff, they're still comfortable and fit exactly how I like. I've had them for a month now and am loving having a new pair after so long. I'll update over time if they wear faster than expected. My hope is to get years out of this pair too.

Style has changed dramatically from stock images
I actually had returned my pair immediately after ordering them, so I can't speak from the durability of their newer models. I had originally bought a pair two years ago and they held up fantastically from being used for anything from sitting on the couch to stomping around my back yard gardening. I decided it was time to replace my original pair, however once I opened the box I knew something was wrong. Instead of the chestnut color, they're now a light pinkish color and there's a lot of "pitting" texture in the leather. I thought I had received a flawed pair, or maybe a cheap knock off, however after I returned the pair to Amazon I went and ordered another pair from the manufacturers website. To my surprise, they were the same pinkish color and also consisting of that pitted texture. They look almost nothing like the stock image. I wrote to their support asking what was going on, and seems to be due to differences in leather but regardless, they're still using the same stock images across the board and it is quite misleading. It makes me worry the quality has also dropped in their products since the leather is no longer the same as it was before.
