I read the other reviews that said the size is a bit small and to go up a size. I ordered up (from M to L, for my 33" waisted husband), but noticed that it bunched/pleated around his core, when he put it on. The sizing chart is probably correct. However, the wings sort of make up for the belt's extra length, so he can still use this item. Spouse likes using this belt with his standing desk at work (>12 hrs. standing daily), to give extra back support and give some protection to his umbilical hernia--he notices it doesn't hurt when he coughs, while wearing the belt. However, at some point during his day, he needs to sit, and that's when he has to remove it: Support is great while standing, but it becomes uncomfortable when he's in the sitting position. Like that there's plenty of velcro to secure, plus the wings really help customize a better fit. Still looking for a perfect belt that's comfy to use both standing and sitting.Update: We also bought the less wide belt from Abdomencare, and switch out the support needed, when he sits. Overall, swapping the belts whenever sitting/standing has yielded the best results for him.

Have an umbilical hernia that somedays hurts. Using this thing has helped take some of that pressure of the hernia so I can make it through. It's large enough that it doesn't feel like it's biting into me or causing undue pressure which helps since I'm a fatty.I like how there is the big fat straps that do the main support and then two little ones that I can easily tighten/loosen as needed through the day.Only real gripe I have is that as it's gotten older the material has started to curl. This causes it so the velcro isn't always covered causing it to rub against my skin if I'm not careful. Also it makes it a little hard to use it "stealth mode" since the curling will cause a wrinkle or line in my shirt like an odd pair of underwear going only around my waist.But hey it does what I need and when I'm hurting this helps the pain go away.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:needed one better than the hospital one

I had four major incisional hernias two of which were compromised with intestines and I did not want to use synthetic mesh which all of the surgeons wanted to use with the exception of one of my local general surgeons who was willing to do my surgery with a bio-mesh. The only thing he insisted on was that I wear a hernia belt pretty much 24/7 with the exception of bathing. The one that was provided to me from the hospital was awful, so I searched until I found this one and I love it. It so comfortable and I can cinch it tighter when I need more support and loosen it when I don’t. Definitely size up but other than that, it’s absolutely perfect!! My Doctor even wanted me to send him the link so that he could recommend this belt to his other patients. I know that I’ll be wearing this when doing any major activities for the rest of my life but it makes it worth it with this hernia belt!

Wore once doesn’t hold form bottom and top roll over. Sized correctly just garbage product.

Once you figure out how to put it on it’s great. After my husbands surgery for abdominal hernia this belt helped keep him stable at his manufacturing job. He’s retired now, but still uses it when he’s working in the yard. We’ve purchased two, they are durable and supportive.
